With Kuzy and KK that can play center, Necas needing an extension, needing to resign Jake, and a plethora of other good prospects, I wonder if Jack Drury could be available? Maybe for the Philly 2nd?

DOC-Sid-Rust
Bunting-Malkin-Yager
Pono-Drury-Rakell
Poulin-Eller-Puljujarvi

Lots of cap space to use there to upgrade just about any where.

Wings I want the team to look at :

Duclair
Bertuzzi
Domi
Young, fast, physical dude that hasn't lived up to his draft/scoring position.

Trade Rakell for stuff. Add Duclair to Sid's line, drop Rust with Geno, Yager to 3rd. Yummy

You should care. Near the very bottom of the league in shooting 3 years straight.
If the shooter can’t get themselves open and is playing with others who cannot drive play, it doesn’t really matter how well they shoot.

The low finishing for years is more attributed to system and lack of quality, IMO.

I generally support that idea...but I also look at how putrid the powerplay is and I can't bring myself to click the like button
That's honestly why I don't like the idea. 4 Hall of Famers and they finished what, bottom 3 in PP percentage? Reirden or not, I have no faith in this team getting the most out of a guy like Stamkos.

having stamkos and bunting on the powerplay is a gamechanger for this team, that's exactly what we need there, not sure why he's getting knocked for being a PP producer when he would be the exact right handed sniper we're missing

I'm with you on Bertz and Domi, though I don't think Domi leaves Toronto.

I'm not sure Duclair has the foot speed and skating ability to keep up with Sid for a season. If we want Duclair, I think you should trade Smith and sign Duclair as a third-line wing. Then he can fill in where and if needed.

Would look pretty decent.

New coaching staff, I do.

Sullivan, I don't.

I think people are being blinded by how much Stamkos was buoyed by Kucherov's season this year.

His metrics are pretty dreadful. Had a great playoff though.

Pens added some bang and physical play improved. they were a team that would have been a hard out in the first round. But now the deal is Smith out, add Stephenson, go get a combo RW with size scoring and who brings a physical presence.

Am I the only one who over the years watching Stammer wonders how he manages to collect as many points as he does season after season? I get that he has that shot and makes hay on the powerplay but I dunno... he doesn't really seem to be a very dynamic player, make his linemates better or drive the play. I don't think he'd do great here TBH.

UFA = Bertuzzi+Stephenson
Trade = Hayton

Would be the best case scenario to make the Pens harder to play against.

You are not.

When I see his stats I'm just as befuddled.

More dynamic than Ovi, but A) that's not saying much and B) really, not by much.

A decent offer to Winnipeg for Ehlers might be Ponomarov + Philly 2nd. Cheap roster player and a 2nd would be a decent return relative to other similar players. Buchnevich went for Blais + 2nd about 3 years ago?

Trade Smith to a team and get back a solid 3LW. We could put together a good forward group.

It'll be more like Koviunen or Pickering + 2nd if we make the trade.

I think that just gives more volition that he's not coming here.

Why would someone entering their prime want to come to a team that's more than likely past their Stanley Cup window?
Why did Johnny Hockey wanna go to Columbus?

Players are weird sometimes, who knows.

Then you aren't getting Ehlers.

He'll go for a similar package of what Reinhart returned which was Levi and a 2nd.
No, it was Levi and a first. It was a top 10 protected 1st though. While Levi was a top-notch goalie prospect, that's all he was. Not sure goalie prospects have tremendous value to be honest.

So similar value either way. I just don't see Ehler getting lowballed. Jets don't really have any reason to force a move and could always hold onto him and deal him at the deadline if they want.

I think it's best for both franchise and player if he exits. But, I don't think they'll accept spare parts like Rangers did for Buch because of cap issues.

I wonder if we're going to be more limited than we think in regards to trades this off season. Dubas just dealt a first rounder so that's already going to give him some reluctance when it comes to moving another.

But aside from that, Gavin McKenna is 2026 draft right? If you're Dubas and you move the 2025 first this year, you're probably lottery protecting it in case the team stinks again. Well if you do that and that happens, then you run the risk of keeping the 2025 pick and handing out your 2026 pick. That'd be terrible.

I'd probably still move it if it got us Marner or someone like that, but I'd have to think long and hard about it.

Bertuzzi and Domi are 29 and will turn 30 next season. Duclair will be 29 in the summer. They aren't young. Bertuzzi and Duclair have more than lived up to their draft/scoring position as they were drafted in the 2nd and 3rd rounds respectively. Domi is the only first rounder.
