So the officials saw that Seider broke his stick slashing Rust but it isn't a penalty on Seider for slashing because...

..........?????????????
Not only did he break his stick, he then engaged Rust while holding a broken stick.

Even the Red Wings commentators mentioned that Detroit got away with one there.

And the fact that the one ref who originally called the penalty on Rust apparently didn't see what happened and called a penalty based on what he figured must have happened.

Great stuff all around.

The thing coach is doing to bring Lizotte’s production down is very reminiscent of what DB used to do to newer guys who produced on L3 or L2. He would always put them with Adams to try to prop Craig up. No one would ever be propped up though. It only ended up making productive players unproductive.

It must be a thing with coaches who were plugs when they played. Some sort of unwritten rules we’re not really privy to.
