Is it odd that as a Flyers fan I'm more concerned about how my guys won then I would be if I were a Pens fan? Lol.

I just don't like how the Flyers won this one. Game was practically gift wrapped with a penalty box parade, we started off horribly, and if this headed to a shoot out or even OT I'm concerned that they lose. Which they would've gone to if not for a gifted game winner.

Goaltending...lucky bounces...garbage goals...whatever. There's one thing I'm bothered with the most( because its been piling up over the season) is Crosby continuing to force a pass.

He's tied for league lead in scoring.
His decision to shoot more will come with time, i believe.

The last goal was pretty poor goaltending. I have no idea what he was trying to do and the entire night Vokoun was getting up off the ice with his back turned away from the play. Just horrible display from veterans in this game, not just Vokoun who should know better at this stages of their careers.

You know what pisses me off is the other day after the Sabres game Bylsma and the players insisted they were fine with the penalties they took.

It's hard to expect discipline from the players when the coach sanctions the dumb penalties as team toughness or whatever. Accountability has to start with Bylsma and he's apparently unwilling to take a stand and tell the players to cut that garbage out.

If we lose a playoff series, I can just about guarantee penalties will be a big reason why.

LOL I think Bryz and TV had a little side bet going before the game on who could let in the most shat goal. Bryz tried to steal it near the end with that legs spread wraparound goal. TV forgot he had it already in the bag with the "campout in the circle until it goes in" play and probably even the primary assist he got earlier as well but he didnt want to leave any doubt so he one timed in that little slider from behind the goal line and put Bryz to shame.

Said it earlier but were playing just like Washington a few years ago. Great in regular season with our run and gun, then fall flat.

In a rare hyperbolic moment a few days ago, I suggested that the Pens had picked up the Caps mantle of winning Stanley Cups in February.

I hate to blame a loss on one guy, but... the team busted it's ass off, especially in the last 10:00 to get back, and then had their goalie **** up. I know various things factored into the final score, but if TV had made that save...

Agreed. Obviously there's multiple things in every loss you can blame. But bottom line is, especially in a crazy game like this, sometimes you just need your goalie to make a save. No excuses

Heh. I know that feel.
Look both of us ain't winning a Cup this year. Let's just relax and play another 1st round match up and party our ***** off.

brilliant theory

Sending a Thank You card addressed to Dan Bylsma at the Consol Energy Center from a Flyer fan would be a start.

i love you man, switch over to the good side :yo:

I know people like to rag on Kennedy but this is just going too far

I'm not sure that Bryz wasn't equally bad though.

I don't think anyone can point out two goals against Bryz that he was 100%, directly responsible for.

Aside from when Talbot shattered his stick and Geno refused to give the puck to anyone but Neal, Geno and Neal were glorified 5 on 3 decoys for Sid and the black hole. That's PP design.

I just disagree. Malkin and Neal got plenty of touches on that 5-on-3.

I mean, the complaint used to be that Crosby got all the right half-board time, but now it's that players pass the puck to him too often when he's on the left side? I dunno, man...

All the offensive zone draws from the left dot-- on a night no less when Malkin actually was winning them-- for the third and fourth line. That's a coaching decision.

Dupuis with more ES ice time than Malkin, who at least finally looked like his head wasn't up his ***. That's a coaching decision.

Malkin played 21:30 tonight, with 7:51 on the PP, more than anyone on the roster, for pete's sake.

He got his time.

I won't go into the other things, except to mention again that the shift that turned the game really started with three forwards up ice and Letang, with no pressure, forcing a stretch pass that got picked. 3 on 2 against and a goal 25 seconds later.

Letang had a crap game, to be sure.

Individually, none of these things are important as the goaltending. But, there are things that, for example, a coach can do even as a bench manager to increase the chance that his team pulls out a game like this. You can't tell me that Bylsma did that. You can tell me he's a good coach for other reasons, but his bench management tonight was atrocious.

I don't have a problem with Bylsma's bench management tonight. It was not even close to the reason for this loss.

Our goalie was abysmal. We lost our composure. Our PK was terrible...and here, I will fault Bylsma. Philly makes the PP look way too easy way too often.

All these people saying we should have done this or that, or if it wasn't for that fluke goal, or bad penalty, blah blah ****ing blah.

It's a carbon copy of last April, the offsides that wasn't called, etc. They just need a better plan to cope with the ******** that happens during Flyers games. The answer is simple, keep your head. Keep your head and don't take that bad penalty, keep your head and don't make a run at that guy causing an odd man rush, keep your head and don't run around like a chicken with your head cut off leaving gaping holes in the defense and goaltending.

I've played sports, I understand the emotion, but you have to learn how to control your emotions. That's it.

I think Bennett is decent but it's time to send him back down to the AHL for the rest of the season. He's clearly not the answer, let's not keep him up here and kill his confidence.

And you've made that decision with all of that ice time he's being given?

The Pens need to hire you as a professional scout.

I'm telling you . . . Bylsma = Tomlin. Good guy. Players like him. Media loves the cliches. But, he thinks the only place for X's and O's are a kids board and with each moment that passes between his and the previous regime, the structure and discipline slips further and further away.
