This is why so many people are made at Hextall. He waited to long and just sat on his hands.
Again, Hextall is a rebuild guy. He’s more interested in what’s going on in junior hockey than he is pro hockey. I think he’s been told to stand pat as much as possible - but start the process. They’ve admitted as much when he was hired. Everyone is going to hate the guy, because they think he’s “sleeping” when really he’s just doing the organization justice by not focusing on this pipe dream of more cups - at the expense of this organizations well-being 5-10 years down the road. Hextall knew he would be the bad guy before he even went into the interview. He’s good with it, so will you when we have a soft transition from the Crosby Era to whatever comes next. As opposed to something resembling the Pirates for a decade. Due to sending draft picks out the door to support 37 year old players.

"Ron Hextall keeps freeing up salaries to give himself more cap space to make a trade. A significant transaction involving the Pens is expected by 3PM on Friday."

Yeah that's basically what Google Translate had so that's what I figured.

If Hextall is going after a significant trade, this just makes me think more and more that something is going to go down with Vancouver.

Seeing eyssimont go in the namestnikov trade ... everytime I saw eyssimont play late in the season I saw a guy I'd love on our 4th line. Quick, aggressive, some skill, hit anything that moved, plays c/w. Him on lw across from Archie would not have been a bad cheap 4th line.

And I'd be fine with that if they actually sold all available assets off. Blueger's a start, but if the organization and Hextall truly want to stockpile for the future then get rid of Zucker, Dumoulin, etc. Don't just half-ass it.

I'm not even sure Hextall is a rebuild guy, tbh.

This team's big move(s) is gonna end up being some shit like Garland or JVR, Bjugstad and Kulikov.

Beauvillier, Boeser or Miller would be ok. Miller and Boeser need retention bad to stomach though.
