I mean, I would maybe think about Kane for Matheson straight up. And even then I don't know if its worth it for the damage it might do to the room and the unneeded controversy it would bring. I wouldnt f***ing dream of giving anything of worth for him. Even if hes on his best behavior the guy isn't that fun to play with because he plays with horse blinders. Shoots and drives to the net well but cant really play off others. Just really really risky all around

Horrid idea for Pittsburgh. Kane is garbage. Big time drama involved. Let him go to the KHL.

That's funny a simple search leads to multiple sources. Pittsburgh hockey now mentioned it , the hockey writers mentioned it , and there are more. Perhaps adjust your browser settings :naughty::nod:

lol the hockey writes sucked and I mentioned it. Please send other sources that matter

You really need to do some leg work.
There was another article ( penguins hockey now) that examined this recently as well. Thats about 3 or 4 now

The article for Penguins hockey now, saying they wont and shouldn't? The Article that says one eastern conference team is interested and it's probably not the penguins.

Ya your just making up stuff now and not posting it because you now they dont exist. There is not one credible place that links the two. Even Penguins hockey now, one of your claimed sites, says there aren't any actually people saying connecting the two teams.

hahaha since you cut out the picture to fit your agenda let me post the link

NHL Rumors: Evander Kane Getting Traded in 3-Way Deal - NHL Rumors - NHLTradeRumors.Me

btw way the article is written by the same guy who wrote it for the hockey writers. Your literally quoting the same source like 4 times. Maybe try finding a different guy before you respond again.

Wrong again......meh...when will you try harder .....again a writer suggests pott would be one of the landing options and we know ( well aleast the educated ones) that an Eastern conference team or two have shown substantial interest....

On the ice, the kind of player Evander Kane has been for the past three seasons with San Jose fits almost exactly with the Pen's biggest need.
If there is a way to acquire that at a reduced cap-hit without breaking the bank, better yet as a bargain, I absolutely roll the dice on it, never mind the perceived risks.
He wouldn't be there to be loved or make up the team identity. He'd be there to make money and help the team win.

We need to take some chances and get some breaks to stay truly relevant as cup-contenders late in Sid and Malkin's careers.

You know, if there was a way to get Kane at 25%, I would do it. We wouldn’t have to move much if any salary. He could be added to the roster.

He would look good on Geno’s wing.

much rather have Zucker. Kane is too unpredictable, could be out the league soon.

Also Zucker is playing very well this year.

Seems just as likely that he will do something so stupid the pens can terminate his deal as it is him putting up 70 points.

Zucker for Kane (@$5M) + conditional pick. condition if Kane puts up less 69.5 points in 22-23 San Jose gives up a 2nd round pick.

This would act as insurance, because if he continues to be a shit head and not play in the NHL he will not reach that mark.

I'd probably quibble over the conditional pick because I have no interest in paying future assets to get rid of someone but doable.

So you are saying Kane @ 5M plus a 2023 2nd for Zucker. Meh, not bad.

I would prefer something along the following:

Pitt gets Kane @ 2.5 M for Zucker + 2nd + 4th
Cap floor team gets Pitt 2nd + SJ 3rd, and 2023 SJ 2nd + 3rd to retain 2.5 M on Kane and 2.75 M on Zucker
San Jose gets Zucker at 2.75M + Pitt 4th for Kane, 2.0 M in retention + 3rd + 2023 2nd + 2023 3rd

Above helps both our teams with cap space next year, you get 3.0 M in relief, we get 2.25 M, plus it reduces Pittsburg's risk if Kane does implode. Kane's on-ice production is also likely much better than Zucker's, and at half the cap for longer (so if he doesn't implode, high value for you).

Cap floor team uses two retention slots next year at 5.25M, but only one slot at 2.5M for the 23 and 24 seasons (getting 4 decent picks as currency). If that isn't quite enough, we could each toss in an excess B-prospect that has dropped down our depth charts.

It's the New York Post, so take it with a grain of salt, but I saw this earlier today:

NHL team interested in Evander Kane trade after COVID suspension is up

So with this in mind, how about this proposal:

Penguins get Kane at $5 million
Sharks get Zucker

The Penguins get a sizable upgrade in ability, but at the downside of trading a good locker room guy (Zucker is apparently loved in the locker room) for a guy who.....needs work, to put it politely. The Sharks get out of Kane's deal while also getting a suitable short term replacement for him, while not having to pay any sort of assets to get out of his contract.
I loathe Zucker and I really, really, really f***ing hate this…
