DK pretty much nailed it...I know...but this is the first from any of the Penns media to say out loud...

Not really. it is all a big nothing burger. He says Smith has been bad and O'Connor and Puusy desrve more time but he refuses to directly call out sullivan for his line up choices. He walks around the issue like the rest.

Jarry was awful again last night but the pp could have saved them and failed like normal. The team was also not prepared at all to play last night.

not sure what you are reading...he explicitly calls Sully out for dropping Puusty from the PP, for playing Graves, for dropping DOC instead of Smith, he basically saying that Harkins, Carter suck, that Acciari is not what Sully is trying to project, and what we been banging about forever that he has not giving a chance to any young players since Jake, basically put them up and as soon as one of the preceived TOP 6 is back he drops them off, or bench them....When did you hear anyone, anyone ever saying that loud...This was the most direct criticism of Sully (and absolutely spot on) that I heard from anyone that follows Pens

Meh it sounds more like him complaining about Dubas signings. It might be a little more than normal but far from actually being directly critical of sullivan. Even when he talks about Puustinen getting less time, he doesn't even mention sullivan by name. He mentions nothing about the issues systematically and only talks about personal issues which is why it seems more critical of dubas.

Eller is better player than Bonino, he is wasted with some scrubs on his flank and 80% or whatever percent of DZ starts...thats why he should have play with Smith and maybe even Rust, and play Geno with DOC and Puusty..Go Bold
Agree to a lot of this, although I’d still to see preinjury Rust appear and see how it works with Geno…

It will take Rust no more than 3 games, he'll be back........but on L1, as soon as we lose to Bruins, even maybe by the third period down 2 goals

I can’t wait to see our PP (try to) go to work on the Bruins…should be even more embarrassing lol…the injury list also will be long coming out of that game…Rust might be out another month as of Thursday night lol

Had to switch my phone out today, and the gent helping me was a Wings, Devils, and Crosby fan. He's also tight with the local teams' coach, who's Sam Lafferty's stepdad. We had a fun chat about EK, Marino, Sid and league Cup odds, but a lot of the gist was that Sully needs to GO

Puljujarvi is gonna swoop in and take Puustinen's spot isn't he
If he's healthy, I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up on Malkin's line. He's similar to DOC, but better hands (still not great, but better).

I think we are going to end up with:
Guentzel-Crosby-Rust
Rakell-Malkin-Puljujarvi
Smith-Eller-Puustinen
DOC-Acciari-Nieto
Carter

Maybe at some point, but Sullivan will never start him there. He’s never had him as a player so he’ll need to “ease” into the lineup like everyone else.

I’ll personally be surprised if the guy even gets past a few games. He’s only going to get around 10 minutes of ice time at best so he’s really going to have to make an impression. Hard thing to do for a guy who hasn’t played much over the last few years.

Anyone who thinks Sid is gonna retire-

SID NEVER STOPS

Kyle Dubas told an entirely unsurprising story on his radio hit with Josh Getzoff on Wednesday.
Dubas went into the offices at the Lemieux Complex for work the day after Christmas. The NHL's holiday break wouldn't end until the following day on Dec. 27, when the Penguins flew up to Long Island for a game against the Islanders that night.
When Dubas got into the office he heard the sound of someone skating on the sheet of ice below. He looked out to see who it was, and of course it was Sidney Crosby. Alone.
"He's out with a weight vest in his tracksuit on a mandatory off day," Dubas said. "He opens the rink up himself and puts himself through his paces."
It's just the latest example of Crosby's work ethic.
"It's the commitment to his craft and wanting to master his craft, and how meticulous he is about everything," Dubas said. "Not only does he do it for himself, he pulls other people along with him. I think that's a major difference between him and some others. He's obviously going to be very meticulous about his preparation. But he's bringing others along with him. I think that's what helps too. I know that's what helps to raise the level of the group, even at 36 years old. It's remarkable. And it's been a special experience to see him in action every day."

Those would be fun lines so that will never happen

Big grinder who can skate and has no hands. Perfect for Sully.

Honestly I think Poolparty could help us, but it ain't gonna be by scoring many goals I don't think
as oppose to other scrubs that can't skate, have no hands and are not scoring....at this point it really does not matter as long as he is fixated in keeping Carter and Harkins in the lineup

That's not exactly how it works here.

It IS how it works with actual Penguin prospects (such as they are) like Puustinen, Poulin or whoever.

But a "proven" failure/reject from another organization -- e.g. Chad Ruhwedel, Greg McKegg, Jansen Hakrins, etc. -- has immediate "cred" with this idiot coach, to a degree far greater than any home-grown prospect ever could and especially over one who isn't a talentless Sully Scrub-type player.

Of course Pool Party isn't necessarily going to slot in right next to Geno to begin with, but he will immediately outrank Puustinen on the depth chart. He probably does already.
