Speculation: Penguins off day talk thread: Yes, Sully is still the coach

What a weird mid-January to early February schedule for the Pens. Play on 1/15 and then 4 days off before a two game road trip. Then three days off before a back to back pair of home games. Then 9 days off which without doing any legwork must be their week off and maybe also the all-star break.

Their last 25 games are from 3/2-4/17. So 25 games in 46 days. Gonna be rundown for the POs.

Gotta give Puusty the POJ treatment. He will be better off watching the games than actually working on problems. POJ has been leveling up watching Shea and Ruh play the past few weeks.
At least Puusty is getting at least a minute and a half more TOI lol…I love the Sullivan equation: younger = less TOI, even though the old guys can’t play the whole game anymore and make more mistakes…don’t know where he went to school

Can't say Dubas doesn't love hockey. Rumor has it he's attending the Casey Classic in Wilkes Bar. An area high school tournament.

I am curious what magical thing Harkins does that gives Sullivan this insane want for him in the line-up, minutes aren't the issue, he's still playing.

He handles the puck like a grenade.
His defense is severely overrated.
He throws hits like Archibald did, as in, pretty pointless times, he's a Tanner Glass devoid of skill.
He literally has not produced a single point, yet his line mates have in that same f***ing span.

It is just absolutely bizarre that this bloke is still in the line-up, I don't care about the cap excuse, etc. He is quite possibly the worst player we've seen on this team in the Crosby era.

Puustinen off PP1...

*Sullivan Logic* - Puustinen has made the powerplay better since he's been on it, welp, better take him off after his biggest game as a Penguin.

I understand Rakell finally had 2 breakthrough games, as a big fan of Ricky Raks (bastards stole my nickname for him), I would have kept him on the 2nd unit to let him keep doing his thing without the pressure and keep Puustinen on the 1st unit. The one bloke that actually shoots when he sees a chance is the one they take off for a player that has given up shots to pass it back to play the hot potato game...

Sullivan literally thinks that Isles game was a breakthrough because why not, he doesn't scout for shit, they were 6-1-3 or something like that and rolled in and played one of their worst games of the season, more of a fluke, an anomaly. Some players got some weight off of their shoulders, but to immediately change shit up for the few things he shouldn't change....smooth brained f***ing tosser, that one.

In 10:52 of ice time, Puustinen put up 2pts, sure makes sense to limit him.

The way Rorabaugh has those pp combinations written out makes it look like Jake is playing center, EK playing right wing, and Malkin and Rakell on the points.

Which seems insane, so I'd actually love to see that.

Letang quietly 2nd at ES points among defenseman. Unfortunately he only has 2 PP points
