Hextall was even worse, just bleeding assets. Gave away McCann, Marino, Matheson for nothing and let Rodriguez walk for no reason.

I'm more annoyed at Hextall because he blew our last legitimate chance. Yea Dubas has sucked too but the core is too old at this point anyway. Getting futures is the right move now.

Core is fine this year and last year. Moving a 1st and just sitting around and letting the team implode is such dog shit loser mentality IMO.

But he can’t fire Sullivan or whatever excuse people want to make.

After the clueless mishandling of Puljujarvi it is pretty nice to follow Sullivan getting what he deserves.

Sully probably thinks “zero event” applies to the bedroom too.

I'm not sure we're really doing Pickering a "solid" by forcing him to play with an absolute dogshit partner. Baptism by fire, I guess....?

Shades of making MAF play all those games with the Gen X squad because we kept him up too long by accident.

The Penguins also have largely cleaned up their defensive messes from earlier this season.
Aged like milk.

And he has overseen noticeable improvement in recent weeks from young players such as O’Connor, Phil Tomasino and Cody Glass.
So Sully is getting credit for these players occasionally not being completely useless (okay, Tomasino has talent but the other two are empty sweaters 9 out of 10 games). Talk about bizarrely low expectations.

As for the game itself, the Pens played a good 10 or so opening minutes then inexplicably decided to play down to their opponent and were once again outgoalied. But I am sure this has nothing to do with coaching, it's just one of those inevitable things. Lock Dubas and Sully until 2050!

Buddy he’s mishandled more than just Poolparty

Image not having the privilege of watching Noel Acciari play 13:30 minutes a night. :shakehead Yinz don't know how good we got it.
4th line 6 shots in 9:00ish minutes, Hayes 2 of the 6 in 16:44 TOI.

Top line 1 shot in 21:00 minutes, Rust out with LBI only 11:41 TOI

Your best players need to be the best players on the ice for them to win regularly.

The only shocking stat is Letang went unscathed while the rest of the D-core was a negative.

The great thing about the Edzo "season" was nobody was screaming about how he was a genius.

Pittsburgh sports is just so depressing.

It's not even the fact that they are losing. I can handle losing.

It's the fact that not a single team is on the right trajectory to even give them a chance to win in the future. Steelers, Pirates, Penguins... just keep doing the same shit every year and expect different results. Unwilling to change. Unwilling to make business decisions. Clinging to the past. It's literal insanity.

Sullivan, Tomlin, Nutting, and the "I feel really good about next year" yinzer moron might as well be the 4 horseman of the apocalypse. Because this city will never win another playoff game as long as those 4 exist here.

I'm tired.

I will be filing a freedom of information act to release Mike Sullivan's birth certificate. We need to investigate the rumors that he's NOT a true, native-born Masshole.

This is of critical importance and i implore the relevant government agencies to cooperate fully and swiftly on this matter.

My favorite thing about the ol’ 29er is how everything he describes about the trouble of this team screams bad coaching, yet he thinks the players are just not doing what God’s gift to coaching, Mike Sullivan, is telling them to do.
A reminder that:

He was never selected in the NHL Entry Draft; instead, he was signed as a free agent by the Pittsburgh Penguins on October 4, 1982.

He's one of those Bylsma/Sullivan guys.

Anyhow. Being a fan of the Pens is great because you go through the trouble to make a mean joke only to have it actually be kind of true.
