Seems like that brutal 5 game stretch against the elite teams showed them the level they need to be at and now they’re crushing weak competition since. In the 13 games since they have a 64% 5v5 xG. Larger gap between 1 and 2 than 2 and 12 lol. Only one game they lost the xG battle which was the Caps game. That was a pretty brutal game. Now tbf I also think the Avs and Blues games it’s hard to really use the xG since they had leads and didn’t need to push against us but all in all they’ve been far better of late and are crushing soft competition.

Against the actual good teams they got rocked by Caps, walked all over the Leafs and Kings. Then Avs they got screwed by that no goal in 1st and in turn they decided to completely shutdown after that until the start of the 3rd

Imo he is better than Marino and Graves, which went for 4,5M before cap started rising.

Agreed he’s better than both but I don’t see the price getting as high as you’re saying. While his underlyings were good in Montreal this is Kovy’s first season eating true top 4 minutes. The fact it’s a small sample size will keep that number between 4 and 5 mil per I believe. Marino and Graves you had a larger sample size of significant minutes to go off of.

The fact the Caps and Canes are likely hurdles in round 1 and 2 for us to get to the ECF is kind of annoying. Those are arguably the top 2 teams in terms of pushing pace of play in the east aside from us lol

Ok, since they won, guess I'll be making another quick and easy GDT for the game on Monday!

That’s what really annoys me dropping a game like the Jackets or the extra point against the Leafs or the other losses when they should’ve won. Like yeah it’s nice you were great but winning the division would be so huge only having to go through one of them. We’ve left an abundance of points on the table already this year. Cut that shit out

Saw this on the main board Luke thread. So damn smooth here.

I also love seeing all that close support leading to an easy breakout. Pesce is close by for an easy pass. Cotter goes to the boards for another quick option and you also have Mercer and Hughes up the middle. Everyone in the D zone. No one flying the zone or cherry picking. Night and day different compared to last season on the breakout.

Man tonight felt like I was in time machine but, at the Rock and not in the swamp. Markstrom had a vintage Marty game! Crowd was pretty festive and cheered good defensive plays. Bring on the Rags!

Really want that Ranger game. Tough schedule for them. In Dallas last night. At home to Carolina tomorrow afternoon and then at the Rock 24 hours later. It’s 3 games in 3.75 days so we’ll see how much gas they have left in the tank.

We've also won a few that we probably shouldn't have. It all works out in the end.

The foundation for the future is here. Awesome stuff.

12 shots against? Guess the "Devils are the worst defensive team ever that doesn't give their goalies a chance" argument can be retired for a while.
To be fair Pittsburgh isn't a high volume shooting team but, 12 is super low. Love how this team is playing. Shows how that their super committed and really want to win. It's much more attention to detail then just playing a 1-2-2. Most teams play that but, not this effective.

They’re desperate to get back in the race. Would not be shocked at all if Igor plays both games with the break right after.
The way Ottawa is going and Boston is still good. They really have their work cut out for them. The rest of the east are soild playoff teams. Not the snails race it was last year. Carolina will take a lot of them tommorow. They aren't a exactly a young team either.
