Confirmed with Link: Penguins and Mike Sullivan part ways

Nobody likes to hear this for some reason and obviously it's a bit reductive but Mike Sullivan has had a pretty shit career outside of two seasons.

It's just that... those two season were QUITE the doozy lol
2018 was a really good team too. They took the Caps to the limit, again, and had it not been for some injuries I think they win that series. And that was the year the Caps won it all.

Likewise 2022, they had the Rangers number save for being on our 3rd string goalie. Still took it to game 7. And the Rags lost in the ECFs that year.

You really think his "advise" doesn't carry the maximum amount of weight?

Really?

You don't think most of these rosters... across multiple GMs... don't have his fingerprints all over them?
I think Sullivan largely had GMs who agreed with what they wanted the roster to look like.

Why do you think guys like Noel Acciari continue to get contracts? GMs like them. The Caps reacquired Lars Eller - who is better than Acciari but still a bottom sixer. Ryan Reaves continues to get opportunities.

The NHL loves pluggers. It's not unique to Sullivan.

Yeah I think the team is going to be dreadful next year. They're going to be giving multiple players a chance to rebound and see if they can be better under a new coach, I think Graves and Jarry both fall under that (since they'll have a new goalie coach too).

With Sullivan gone, I'm more inclined to believe that they'll be giving more young players a chance as well. The odds of Brunicke making the team are higher now, and I can really see the defense shaping up into something like:

EK Trade-Letang
Pickering-Timmins
Graves-Brunicke
Shea

I never said he was uniquely moronic compared to his peers... they're mostly idiots, too. Toss most GMs into that same pile while were at it... especially when they have cap space burnin' a hold in their pocket. I'm just saying that Sullivan and the GM had at least equal input in creating these rosters and the blame doesn't just stop with the GM re: what is iced on day one of the season.

this team is definitely finishing top-8th in the eastern conference next year, and they ain't finishing 8th. Or 7th. Or 6th. Or 5th. Or 4th. Or 3rd. Or 2nd. Or 1st.

Now that the wicked witch is dead the munchkins can rejoice! Here we GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Apparently that stupid Bostonian twat had a list of non negotiable demands and Kindergarten Kyle finally had his balls drop and said piss off.

For real. Need to get serious about player development, now.

These spots shouldn't just be legacy hires anymore. Start flexing some of that supposed infinite money to get serious support staff. No cap on that as the old cliche goes.
More like - we can actually f***ing see player development now that the f***ing moron is gone for good.
