This is like enjoying old folks home all stars beating up some slower learning kids. It's not that beautiful. The Habs are so f***ing bad, and so are the Penguins. Super to see Sid playing it up, one of the GOATs.
And seemingly f***ed Geno over for his production and as usual, it's apparently fine to do that to Geno.
They've done that all year, that's the only way they get wins.
How is Geno not producing while Sid is? It's almost weird how they're on the same line now, Sid's started to score, but Geno's not picking up random assists on these goals -- even though they're on the same line.
People complain they never give Geno talented linemates and then they complain when they put him on a line with Sid and Rakell.
The team is playing better hockey lately. The objective is not to pad any individual player's stats. If Sid and Rakell stay hot Geno is going to rack up points eventually playing with them.
Washed Laine and Harvey-PinardI know the Habs are rebuilding and injury ravaged but losing 2 games in regulation to this Pens team in less than a month is downright embarassing.
Sid + Rakell works, it always has, had Sullivan given those two time after the Canucks game it would have had Sid produce anyway, Malkin being on that kind of f***s him over.Crosby already lifted the Cup with Malkin in 09.
They have a ton of talent gotta put it together
Ye he may not have got any points but the line is working.
Perhaps not but the team was f***ed with how bad Sid was playing.I feel like Geno's presence on the line keeps defenders more honest and draws guys' attention away from purely shadowing Sid, but I don't think that's really worth cratering the minimal depth this team may have had, to put it lightly.
How can you say this team lacks depth when we've got the Big Three of Sid, Geno and Michael?I feel like Geno's presence on the line keeps defenders more honest and draws guys' attention away from purely shadowing Sid, but I don't think that's really worth cratering the minimal depth this team may have had, to put it lightly.
Yeah, I think they're thin enough on wing to be a one line team pretty much regardless so I don't particularly care. I do think it's killed any chance to even pretend they have two functional scoring lines though.Perhaps not but the team was f***ed with how bad Sid was playing.
Seems like a damned if you do damned if you don't situation with the lineup

I guess you run DOC-Sid-Rakell but they really don't have a LW for Geno-Rust when Rust gets back. Beau is trash, Bunting's even worse somehow, I honestly wouldn't bother with either anymore in top-9 roles. Not sure how well Puljujarvi or Puustinen play at LW but those two guys should be getting permanent spots in the lineup moving forward imo.
Bunting is playing so bad that Geno might be tempted to strangle him if he had to play with him for more than a few gamesBunting - Malkin - Puustinen is fine with what this team is.

I think the fact that they were both close/good games for us is what is more embarrassing.I know the Habs are rebuilding and injury ravaged but losing 2 games in regulation to this Pens team in less than a month is downright embarassing.
I am interested in Puljujarvi on either top 6 line. He plays hard. Give him even strength time and let him just tough it out. Let him be the 3rd wheel. Retrieve puck to Crosby and let him do whatever.Yeah, I think they're thin enough on wing to be a one line team pretty much regardless so I don't particularly care. On Graves. A little of column A and a little column BI like how Graves has been playing this season. Is it because he is on the third pairing, or is it because he simply could not have played worse last season? Both? He also looked good next to Brunicke in the preseason. It is good that it seems that asset is not a complete zero. Perhaps he becomes even more important in a post-Pettersson world.
Like Gurgelsons, I too like how Bunting has played lately. Far more engaged, very ornery, very much the pest that he is. The problem is, he is supposed to be a second-line LW on this team, at least. But how is he going to produce with the current lines? Bunting is a complementary player, not a main piece. He cannot be the guy to lead a line. Now, if he was on a line with, oh I don't know, PULJUJARVI, that might make sense.
Without a good playmaker on his line, Bunting is a fourth-liner on a team that has no more place on that line. NO Vacancy.
Omg, this coach…why does Beau get a sweater every night?…Bunting, DOC, Hayes? Any reason Puusty needs to be benched outside of being a Euro lol?
Ok what in the actual f%#@?

Going to be interesting with Nieto a full participant at practice. Puckpedia currently has the Pens with $107k in cap space.I am interested in Puljujarvi on either top 6 line. He plays hard. If they want to keep Blomqvist up, Puustinen's $775k won't be enough to bring Nieto off IR. But Puljujarvi’s $800k would be.
