As much as I feel this change was needed Maurice brought a lot to the table for this org.

He represented to city with class and brought some much needed standards and professionalism to the room. I feel he was a great coach for us until 2019 but things haven't been smooth since then.

I would like to thank him for his contributions to the org and wish him the best moving forward wherever he ends up.

All these guys have a shelf life - Mo's was longer than most.
Maurice will be fine as frog hair - he'll have a number of different opportunities anywhere from coaching to media to management.

I hope this shake up prompts a response (on the ice) from the players - will be interesting to watch over the next few games.

Let the next head coach speculation begin!

Good luck Paul -

But we are still stuck with Huddy. And the special teams between multiple coaches still here.... i believe Paul does not get paid now correct? I mean he was probably asked to, but he also is the type if there is one out there to resign knowing he has no more answers, it is likely eventually coming anyways, and the stress part not to mention covid.... also on a game day?
It makes sense to me that whomever is brought in to replace him will get to decide who they bring in as special teams staff.

Yesterday I posted on this site for the first time since November in the Buffalo PGT and said:

I usually leave the coaching topic alone but For the first time since he was hired I think our coach is in danger of losing his job. Next 4 - 10 games are important for Paul’s career in Winnipeg in my opinion.

The man is winning me over with his words again. He f***ing does it every time. The room needs new voice, he says.

I admire the man as a human, not as a coach for this team today, right now. He was what we needed in January 2014, not now.

Props to him for going out like this. Name another coach who has parted ways like this? Has it happened in this league? Props to Paul.

Paul is a good talker but getting all those bullet points in for sure.

100 percent not his decision.

It just doesn't make sense that all of a sudden he's just aware of everything

Yeah, most coaches don't want to talk about the team they're leaving like this. It usually takes months or years or sometimes they just never talk about it publicly.

I have been in this same position as a coach... a team that stopped listening/responding to the Coaching Teams message/instruction...

I chose to eat My ego and call in the MHA tutor coaches... they came in for a number of practices... observed a couple games... worked the players through a number of practices and coached the Coaching Team...

After that time out... that team went on to win their league...

Paul couldn't do that... if it was a resignation because he realized the team was tuning him out... courageous man...

It was necessary...

Good luck Paul...

He's going to be just fine...

As much as I wanted to see some change, I do have to say I have enjoyed what Maurice has brought to the organization, and it seems like he has been a quality person throughout his time here. It's just too bad it didn't seem like he was going to take this team any further.
These were my thoughts as well. I have to say I enjoyed watching his good teams quite a bit. The 2014-2015 team that outperformed their talent level and played balls to the wall every game was great. The 2017-2018 team that was aggressive all over the ice and loaded with talent was the most satisfying team I've ever cheered for. And of course, the sweep against the Oilers last year will be a historic Jets' moment. They were deeply inconsistent last year, and kept slamming their head against the wall in the Habs' series, but I enjoyed watching the team most nights. There was even a glimmer of hope for stretches this year, but it's clear the team needs a new voice (I just hope we don't end up with someone worse than Paul... because as much as some of us hated Paul, it's certainly possible).

Here's to you, Paul! For all the anguish you caused us, you still deserve an honourable farewell!
