I don't see how this is close at all. Kariya didn't play with Selanne in '95 or the first half of '96.

The PPG advantage is substantial and that's without considering the fact that NHL scoring was a lot lower in '97 and '98 than in the last two seasons.

just watch both play, Robertson is exceptionally gumpy as a skater and the aesthetics are worse than the results for sure, but still, a great example of why stats hardly tell the whole story

Kariya was definitely the better player. He was a top 10 forward for a few years, though his injury in his 3rd year and holdout/injury in the 4th season hurt this time frame for value.

Production-wise availability is sometimes the best ability. I went with Robertson and I can't see how it could be "Kariya and it's not even close". If they were just listed as Player A and Player B it would probably be a close poll but Kariya, Bure, Forsberg are catnip for HF board polls.
