Guy hasn’t played last year. Got a major knee injury in training and people wonder why he’s a step behind almost 3/4 into the season.

No one is trading for him. He needs time to get back in game shape form and find his rhythm. Hopefully he does that sooner than later and is 100% ready next year

He's a shooter and all shooters get streaky. i doubt anyone bites on a 8.7 mil cap hit and we're not retaining with only 1 slot left.

So net worth is 0.

Yeah, his season is as good as over already. Clearly not fit enough to even play through the regular season, never mind the playoffs.

I'm excited to see what the excuse becomes then

Guy was great his first 4 years in Winnipeg. But since only plays roughly 1/2 a season if that. Still had good production in the games he played in the shortened years but is too much of an injury risk.

It's safe to say there's never been a player given more excuses than Laine. Not even close.

The question is, has his value went up or down since the initial trade? Gotta think up just because there's less time on the deal.
Probably hasn't moved. Montreal didn't have a ton of hope for the season and had the space so they took a chance like they did with Monahan. I highly doubt any playoff caliber teams line up to take him even with max retention. Maybe someone thinks they can hide him 5v5 and just be a PP specialist but I very highly doubt it

Habs gave Lanie the perfect chance to rehab his reputation and get back to playing top level hockey. He had a good start but NOW it's clear he will never be the Lanie from the past. With this his last chance to rehab his game it's over for Lanie. Habs will buy him out next year and If Lanie plays again it will be in Finland and even that is a big maybe. Nobody in the NHL will touch him now. I don't blame the Habs for trying it might have paid off.

Why would they pay to get rid of him? Are Habs competing all of a sudden? Just hope he gets hot enough next year that you can trade him at 50% to a contender. No sense in paying in assets to get rid of him if you're not trying to compete for cup.

...Habs got a 2nd just to take him, send one of our PLETHERA of Bottom Pairing LD back...Hughes knew what he was doing...

We’re gonna waste 17 millions of cap space for having a complete liability thats hurting whatever line he plays on at 5v5. I know what the trade was.
