Lain won't get a better salary on his next contract.
People are toooootally underrating this possibility as well, I agree

That contract was signed BEFORE even the Columbus 'struggles'
And here the early minor but almost devastating Knee injury actually HELPS us incredible as it is lol..
There's a VERY good chance we can get away with a sort of 7 years X 8M deal
I really really do

Same with Evans negotiations
Do not think Hughes will not be starting a couple of these difficult conversations with " so, i know you know we're trying to build something special here right now.."

The guy literally just came back and is the only one that is off. Sounds pretty soft to me.

He's allowed. I am also allowed to be weary of a guy taking time off after just coming back.
Think it was the flu.............on top of a ton of travel and they would want him isolated so he doesn't pass the flu to the team ( unlike the idiot Therrien days )

hopefully we see him tonight. Our PP is not the same without him.....since he is the only one who will shoot the puck

3 games due to flu. Half the Columbus game. The Injury. If I was his boss, I'd question his resiliency.

Love him when he is here. But, we need to tread lightly with any resign at this point.

What pro athlete misses 3 games with a cold/flu? He’s also been with team the whole time. I’m not buying this at all.

Some people can have 10 straight days of 39-40 deg fever with influenza. Theres nothing strange here, it's making a mountain out of a molehill. This is without mentioning the obvious risk of contaminating the whole team.

Do those people hang with their teammates while that sick like Laine has? He probably has some sort of injury, hopefully not too serious. If he’s not back by Friday, I’d be concerned.

Can't believe these posts man lol
I just can't

-Btw 'his boss' pulled him out of the Columbus game so nobody else took a running swinging stick at his head or something
-3 games because of the Rona is shocking? Have you had it lol? Whole bunch of players gonna miss time with the flu right about now actually
-the knee injury could of happened to anyone any place any time, 2 of 3 doctors told him to have season ending surgery and he said no because he wanted to HELP THE TEAM instead...
- its 're-sign'

lol...sorry for forgetting the hyphen. Stupid me.

This isn't Nick taking 3 games though. This is a guy with serious issues in the past.

It's probably nothing, but it's enough the peak my interest. That is all I am saying. Watch for patterns with this kind of stuff. If it becomes a pattern, it becomes a problem. My guard is a little up and I'm not going to apologize for that.

Does that mean I don't want to re...re....re-sign him? No. But.....let's pay a little attention here and be cautious. No harm in that.

No I know bud, not tryna start somethin with ya, I actually like you lol

It's just, the guy wants to play hockey and have fun, and it's looking like he's having fun playing hockey again..
And we're actively looking for ways to mess it all up??
Sure a 'couple' things have happened or is happening and it's getting blown out of proportion imo
An injury to his knee, didnt caufield just miss half a year with a torn shoulder..?
the columbus thing explains itself,
And now he's SICK and people are freaking out about it??
Last time I was sick i was out of commish like 9 f***ing days lol, these arent overnight things

it's starting to feel like 'online personal attacks' and if somebody doesn't stick up for him who will?

Nobody in Winnipeg or Columbus seemed to want come to his aid, and it affected him and he wanted to leave.. see what I mean?

I definitely see your side here. And yes....I too have had the "rona"...twice. Knocked me out for 10 days this summer while I was supposed to be on holidays. It was perfectly timed though, because the Olympics was on and I had every excuse to lounge around all day and watch wall to wall coverage.

As fantasy general managers here....I would never share my concerns with Patrik. I would simply air my concerns with my fellow nerds on here. I know he has had a rough go in the Peg and C-bus. I really want him to feel welcome and become a superstar with us. I am rooting hard for him to succeed. I generally root hard for all of our guys.
