Yeah, he could be ready for Columbus, but hopefully not, I would give him a couple more practices.

Today was his 1st regular practice. He gets two more Thursday & Friday then plays Saturday at NYR.

It's definitely possible he wants to play the Columbus game, but we're there again in December.

Also, with him so close and Roy called up, 2 people would need to come out of the lineup.

What 2? Condotta isn't so easy because we have no extra centers. Heineman at least hits and has a work ethic. Armia? Who else?
Newhook? He has by far the worst player this year. Dvorak stay because he play Center.

Crazy that he’s back this early considering how awful it looked. Hopefully we aren’t rushing him back at all, lots of games left for him to get reps.
Yeah. Is kinda crazy he is coming back so soon. I has expecting him to with us in late January. I'm surprise Reinbacher injury is taking the whole season. Patrik Laine injury looked way more awful.

I also hope they don't rush him with us. The last think we want is another injury....

Reinbacher's rehabs length is because he had surgery.

Selecting 2 players to bench might be the easiest decision ever.

I like what Condotta did in his stint but he‘a easy to remove. Same for Heineman. Drop Newhook and Dach down on the 4th as a message and ask them to focus on grind / puck possession and forget the offense for a bit. J.Roy and PL on the 2nd.

The Habs’ investment in Laine is small - just until next year, and they basically got him for free (Harris and the second round pick we got cancel each other out almost). If Laine wants to “risk it” as they say (by not having the surgery), the consequences are on him.

I think we should start Laine off with Suzuki and Caufield or Slaf. Five him some good linemates to help him get his timing and confidence.

Eventually, unless he's impossible to take off the first line, he should be the 2c. We need a 2c and he likes the puck on his stick, apparently. Seems like a good fit.

I’m totally fine with him returning mid-December or even later. There’s no need for a repeat of what happened with Weber, playing through injuries and causing even more damage in the long run.
You may be totally fine, but Laine is playing for his next contract which expires in 1.5 years…. his livelihood

I’s sure he wants to make bank

Everyone reacts differently, but just saying, we should expect some adjustment.

If not, great.

The Dach situation was not difficult to see coming, it's unfortunate (and even more unfortunate how many fans have turned on him) but it's part of being an athlete and dealing with injuries.
Right. I get you were making a different point there.

People are really giving up on Dach way too easy. It’s pretty embarrassing.

Yours is not entirely a point without merit, but one I hope he doesn't share because longevity matters too. if he rushes back and gets hurt worse, that next contract might not even happen. IMO, he’s better off taking his time and coming back 100%, both for the team and his own career. But as you suggest, I’m not him or his agent, so he’ll do what he believes will work for him.
