Isn't the record about consecutive PP goals for a team?

Is there an another record to be broken with "only PP goals for a skater"?
Yes the record that was being talked about on air a lot of the time was consecutive PP goals from a single player for the whole team, so that stopped once someone other then Laine scored on the power play.

But anything that is measurable can be a record, it's just a question of setting the constraints and going through the data. Like before this year I had never heard about fastest to 30 assists as a record people cared/talked about, but since Hutson was close it got brought up.

Depends what kind of shot.

Matthews has the best snapper / drag shot in the league.
Hard to compare.

Matthews is better with pre-shot movement. (Skating and drag) Goalie has to react to that, then make the save.

Laine has a natural, effortless release. Goalie knows it’s coming. Knows where it’s coming from. Still can’t stop it.

His skating looked much better last night. Still needs a ways to go before he gets into nhl game shape. He missed almost all of last year and the first 2 months of this season. He's going to need time to get back at it at 5 on 5.

That's also such a crazy fact. The guy is slow as molasse and can barely skate (for now), yet he's on a 54 goal pace. Where does it stop for him?

Laine already broke that. Phil Esposito had 7 straight powerplay goals for his team and Laine put up 8 straight for his team. But some jobber in the 60s scored 11 straight powerplay goals without any other type of goal to start the season. If Laine would've scored 3 more powerplay goals before an even strenght goal he would've gotten that record too.

Yup he was skating much better in camp and even that was a work in progress.
He's never going to be blazing but hopefully we'll see that powerful stride come back.

[The puck] was halfway by me before I could even pick it up off his stick (...)

People forget that he was also out for the end of the season 2 years ago. So it's been a long time since he has been on the ice consistently.

Honestly people will think this is bananas but I think next year we should keep this 2nd line as is, put Demidov with Evans and Heineman and play those top 3 lines roughly equally. Armia and Anderson in a 4th line.

I think people are throwing the towel on Newhook a bit prematurely. It’s clear he’s pretty toolsy. If he puts it together there’s a damn fine player there. He’s working hard. Showing high end flashes but makes some gaffes.

If Dach and Newhook can keep getting better I’d be tempted to run 3 high end scoring lines
