You don't watch enough Pens hockey. If you think Sharp is slowing down wait till you see Kunitz.

As a Wild fan I'd love for this deal to go down.

I don't think Sharp is slowing down all that much and the deal is obviously for MAF and not Kunitz. We get out of one of our goalie contracts, get a solid G upgrade for the cost of a UFA we are likely not resigning. Taking Kunitz back is fine... Dude can play 4th line minutes

Thats not by position, its by cap hit. Spezza isnt our 1C. Seguin isnt our 1RW. You can tell by the first line alone that its not our line up. Our C's down the middle are Seguin-Spezza-Faksa. Which is a very strong middle

Okay, that makes a lot more sense then. So that would basically give the Stars something like:

Benn-Seguin-Janmark
Eakin-Spezza-Ritchie
Roussel-Faska-Nichushkin
4th line

At forward. That group looks a lot better, that makes more sense. Still, I'm not sure that relying on Ritchie, a guy who's out for this entire year and a guy still in the KHL is a good enough RW group and they definitely need another top-4 defenseman or two. I don't know if spending $7 million for Bishop is on the table if they still have Lehtonen plus dead cap from Niemi. Fleury and Lehtonen together costs $11.65 million I believe, Bishop, Lehtonen and a Niemi buyout (trying to minimize Niemi dead cap space) is like $14.4 million.
