Kane is washed up at 36, at that age Chelios had multiple Norris-level seasons left in the tank and was an Olympian at 44 y/o. It's no contest.

Yeah I'm surprised Kane hasn't aged that well. He hasn't been a PPG for about 3 seasons in an era where a PPG is good for around top 30-40 in scoring.

If you think the answer is Kane you are wrong and too young. You only watched him on the Wings after he already had first ballot HHOF career.

Look at Chelios' Norris finishes. 1,1,1,2,2,3

This is against very tough competition. Bourque, Leetch. Macinnis. Coffey. Lidstrom.
Chicago Wolves / Atlanta Thrashers legend Chris Chelios played on the Wings?

He’s actually aged better than most, just not as well as Chelios did. Let’s not act like Kane fell off like Toews and Seabrook did. He’s lasted well into his 30s as a legit star in this league and even to this day is still putting up solid #s despite several injuries. And Idk how many are still averaging over a PPG that are over 35 years old, but probably very few.

Don’t think I’d include Keith. He was pretty good as a 35 year old. He was just older than those other guys.

Chelios, not close. He was the best player at his position several times. Kane was the best player at his position once in his career.

Kane and Keith both fell off around 33 years old.

Keith was 32 when he won the conn smythe in 2015.

Kane was 32/33 the last time he had a PPG season.

To be fair, the hip injury probably exacerbated his decline. Went from 92 points to 57 in one offseason. I believe he had the same surgery that basically ended Backstrom’s career too, so it’s fairly impressive he did as well as he did last year

Kane didn't "fall off" he had a hip injury in his mid-30's. I think he'd still be a 70 point player in this league with good health for another season or two after this one.

Correct, and I removed Keith’s name to make things more accurate. The point is that Kane didn’t fall off too early/quickly, rather that Chelios was able to remain elite up to a point that few in all pro sports can equal(elite season at age 40).

And I’m also pretty sure he’s been at a PPG level or more since DET made their coaching change. Just recently returning to the lineup after a minor injury let’s see how he closes out the season. I believe he still has a lot left in the tank.

Even in a Wing's jersey it makes me happy to see him doing well.

I voted Chelly cuz I'm old and have nostalgic views of that era.

His 40 year old Norris runner up was against his teammate Lidstrom. And the voting was complely split (i personally thought Chelios was better that year).

Kane's peak season was ok, but it overall felt like a weak year. Weak Art Ross, Weak Hart field.
