Kane is a terrific playoff player. His work ethic there could do something to Matthews and Marner's non-existant one, but Leafs definitely have more dire problems.
How many years does JT have left? It's 3 or 4? $11M for a declining 2C is hefty.

marner is but Kane has proven himself in the playoffs. Marner has been a no show the last 2 years. The leafs window closes in 2 years and that only if you believe it already hasn’t closed.
