Not sure why they wouldn't combine Sweden and Finland and then Czech and Slovakia.

There is one hockey power they were obviously looking to leave out along with keeping the tournament short.

I thought it was official we'd be hosting the games with Toronto hence him being pissed about it but I guess it hasn't been announced.

TD Garden is set to host a record number of concerts this year so that is where JJ's priority is not fixing the ice.

That's asking a lot. Not to get all political, but there's a reason Czechoslovakia's no longer a country.

Would the US and Canada happily combine?

I could see them combining if there was a 4 team tournament in Europe like Scandanavia/NA/central Europe/Russia.

Staying out of politics entirely I know there are very good reasons Yugoslavia is no longer a country as well but from a basketball perspective everyone over there wishes they could still send a combined team to the Olympics because they liked their chances head to head with the Dream Team.

I just can't see it. I can speak at least for my own local example - Australia and New Zealand wouldn't join forces for a sporting team in a billion years. We like each other (usually!), but the rivalry and the sense of independence of each is simply too strong to allow it.

You have a better chance of getting a team of cats and dogs to get along than you would a team made up of Finnish players and Swedish players. And it has nothing to do with politics.

So the World Championship has finished (Gold Medal GWG by Pasta!) and in the interview after, he said:

Did you arrive at the World Championship healthy?
No, I have a hip issue. We'll see how it goes. Before the championship, I was told that I would definitely have to go for surgery. But what Professor Kolář has done me here... I owe him a big thank you, as I haven't felt this good in eight months. I don't know what he has in his magic hands, but I really haven't felt this good in a long time.

Is the surgery still required?
We'll see. Professor Kolář says no, so I'll trust him.

For context, Professor Kolář is the best physio in the country, possibly Europe.

Can the bruins just hire whoever that person is to work for the team please

Sure. Combine New Zealand and Austrailia for one International Rugby team.

I bet those "try-outs" would be entertaining! :)

2022/2023 two of the 3 best players on the team started the season on the shelf and they did historic things.

As long as they make the playoffs and he’s fully healthy in time, I’m not worried.

Maybe a blessing in disguise if he plays a shortened season.

Caveat…of course, they need to make the playoffs.
Regular season doesn’t matter

I'm not a cap space specialist, but 21 M on two similar wingers seems alot of money! IMO Pasta won't be on LTIR for 2 years.......
I'm just making fun of the cap games Vegas plays every year but you could spend that money on whatever you needed if you played that game.

Why ? Do you think he will help Pasta when he's playing against NHL level players?
He'd be an asset to ANY NHL team, believe me. But I don't think any NHL team could name a price to convince him.
I'm not expecting him to play I'm expecting him to work with the players lol. Sorry golden I don't know why it also added you but you kind of help the point.

Why would you think I'd think otherwise?

I'm saying there's no price to get him to come work on NHL players like that over here.

2016 WCH Young Guns were 50\50

There you go. I see there was a 'Team Europe' in that tournament too. (as an aside, that Young Guns team was STACKED!)

Still seems odd to me, and in this particular case just a way of filling out the numbers. When you start throwing different countries together, the players aren't really playing for anything other than professional pride and some very slapdash camaraderie. If they're young they've at least got something to prove. Otherwise best avoided IMO.

I agree and that Young Guns really hurt USA.

Eichel, Matthews and Larkin would have been on

Why was he allowed to play in the tournament if that was the case? Doesn't make sense to me. Pride in country be dammed, that doesn't seem like a smart move. Let him heal or get going on surgery if it's needed so he can begin to rehab.

Unfortunately at present the team would be about 20 Kiwis and 2 Aussies! Less than quarter of our population, and they still beat us on the rugby field every year.

Sure they can. He's our multi-million dollar investment. He might not like it, but he'll live.
They could of told him no, yes. But if someone was telling me I can't play for my country and represent it, especially since they're not in the Olympics, I'd be pissed.

Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't. Just gotta hope he didn't hurt himself.
