Didn't see a second as I was under the weather.

Happy to get a win, but it wasn't that great of a game, in my opinion. If Marchand wasn't ticked off, I'm not sure they pull it off.

Hope you feel better!

Didn't see a second as I was under the weather.

Highlights summarize the game and save hours of subpar hockey observation. Finally, discussion here is much more entertaining than the current Bruins.

Same old story this year; Marchand, Pastrnak and Rask have to be on in order for them to win.

I dont think it is senseless to talk about how bad this team is, one win out of five games is not anything to crow about.

No I was just referring to when a team struggles and has a few losses in a row there is lots of chatter about player x or player y or coach or gm etc. Some bad decisions could have been made in this stretch but if they get this win and go on a decent run than the chatter goes away and things can settle down. If we lose the next one and continue to play .500 inconsistent hockey than its gonna be a long season.

The top 4 topics in the Bruins threads are

1. What trades we should make
2. The countdown to firing clode
3. Why are the bruins good on paper but not in real life
4. How would you fix this team.

Everyone sees this team floundering. Everyone knows this team needs a change somewhere sooner than later. Now, with this win, the threads are blowing up like the B'starter just clinched a playoff birth. Unfortunately, the B's front office is probably thinking the same thing and have decided to table any major decisions until later.

Wins the enemy for this team.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK Bruins nation

YOU DON'T HAVE A PLAYOFF TEAM!!!

Everytime they squeak out an OT win there draft pick drops and there timeline for a rebuild becomes a little longer.

I'm not celebrating that.

I don't get it...

This team has problems, I think you'd be hard pressed to say otherwise.

Full disclosure, I've had a pretty difficult last several months so I've watched fewer games than I have in decades, and I can no longer pretend to be an expert... But a couple things really stand out to me...

First, the B's seem to be badly outshooting (and out playing) the majority of their opponents. I know that doesn't always tell the whole story, but it seems to jibe with what I have observed when I have been lucky enough to see them play. Which is a team that has lost the swagger from 2011-2013 (or whatever) and no longer expects to win, even when they are the "better" team (which is more often than not).

Second, they seem incredibly fragile. Where I notice this is when they constantly give up goals unlike the Bruins teams from the glory days... Maybe it's easy to pass it off as them just having a bad defense, but I think it's more than that... I remember a time when a Bruins lead after 2 periods was a guaranteed win. Now it's more like "I sure hope we can hold on"... Something has happened to change the collective expectation level, or team confidence, or something...

Or maybe they just have ****** players... Who make ****** plays... Which results in losses...

Obviously Marchand, Pastrnak, and Rask were key players in this much needed win. I also felt Kevan Miller had a big impact. In addition to the goal, his hit on Sheahan put more life in the building and seemed to up the Bruins' intensity level. Jack Edwards suggested when Sheahan returned the hit moments later Miller offered to drop the gloves but Sheahan refused; but I didn't see the video of that.

In the traditional sense, this doesn't look like a playoff team. But are they really that much worse than any of the other teams competing for the two wildcards?

I hope they stay in the mix. They won't be bad enough to get a really high pick, and from what I've read the next draft isn't overwhelming. Being in a playoff race will be great for the young players, as well as the fans.

So I vote no on the tank! ;)

I am so happy for Pasta getting the GWG - I missed that huge smile and excitement. I loved that Tuukka was the first one to get to him too. Great moments at the end.

Hopefully they can get a win against the Pens and have a break with some confidence.

I think they only have 11 games in February - other teams will catch up but hopefully they can heal up and then go on a winning streak. I haven't given up yet.

Glad the Bruins got the win, great game from Marchand also happy to see Pasta get back on the goal scoring side, awesome shot in OT for the winner. Rask thank goodness bailed us out in the 3rd and OT, the second goal he gave up not his fault off of Miller's skate, but that 3rd goal he gave up he looked like Anton Khudobin on that one, I thought we were going to lose when shots like that go in, glad they turned it around and got the W.

Much has been made in observation that the Patriots can win games in multiple ways.

In comparison, it feels as if the Bruins can win in really only one way; Rask makes saves he shouldn't make, and both Pastrnak and Marchand are firing offensively.

They just don't have enough other guys who contribute.

Lucky they won. An NHL goaltender stops that Pastrnak one-timer.

And why was Claude rotating only Krug and Carlo in the 3 on 3 OT? You could tell Krug was gassed on that 2nd shift. Carlo, who made countless mistakes resulting in goals against lately, got put out there but Colin Miller can't be trusted. More back-wards Claude thinking. Carlo is clearly in the non-accountability group at this point.

And Riley Nash out on 3 on 3 OT? What a joke.

What coach besides Claude Julien puts out a player in 3 on 3 OT who has yet to score a clean goal this season? None.

They fooled no one tonight squeeking by a lousy Detroit team. The Pens and Caps will have their way with this team in the next 10 days or so.

That move alone should get Claude fired. Riley Nash on a 3 on 3 OT play. Wow!

Now you can't watch a game till they lose..

I haven't given up yet.

We shall never surrender.
Nice win. Pastas goal was very Ovi like or Brett Hullian or Stamkosesque. Okay I'll stop.

Next up for the B's phillip kessel and the Pittsburgh penguins.

agreed, during those few seasons with the Cup win and final appearance, when healthy, there just always seemed to be different players stepping up and contributing.

Some nights, it would be Pevs/Kelly contributing, or the Merlot line stepping up and popping one home when the team needed it.

Right now, it`s essentially just a few guys this team relies upon to do all the heavy lifting and having Pasta go as long as he did without a goal only further showed how thin this team is

The top 6 I`m ok with, the bottom six is a bigly :naughty: issue

that was a great shot by pasta. Ive seen subban put that same shot and location by plenty of NHL goalies.
Don't know if pasta meant to go misdirection on that shot, but it works a lot when you do that on one-timers.

I get your point, but last night Rask was shaky at best.

Man oh man did the Bruins need this. Even better it was against the Wings after what happened last time. I wonder it Marchand will hear from players safety ...

On the other hand, how the hell does nobody see a player lift the net off its moorings on purpose???

no way marchand gets anything for that. it was basically a trip because kronwall was being a dick stopping quick in front of him like that. Kronwall knew what he was doing there.
