It's going to take a10 game stretch where we win at least 7 of them before we are legitimately back in playoff picture so I can't get too excited splitting these last 2 games with Detroit

That said, this was a must win game and we did win it. I still think most our loses boil down to lack of depth

I'd still like to see the team move some prospects for the needed upgrades

It's games like this that show us why tanking isn't an option. Even struggling, these guys are going to win half their games

Great to see a win. Marchy still clutch...

Marchy was awesome. Was great to see how disgusted he was in the intermission interview. He wanted this one bad. What a great competitor. Take the A from Krejci and give it to Marchy. He is showing more heart than a good many of players on the team combined.

A big come back win tonight.
Steal one from the Pens on Thursday and they can enter the break on a positive note.
After the Pens they only play 6 games in 23 days; so plenty of time to be refreshed for the stretch run.

BE nice to add a bit of help and go after that wild card.Lovecto face habs in playoffs.

Glad Rask made some big saves in the 3rd, glad Pasta got off the shnide, but don't feel real good about what I saw tonight. Sorry, a two minute Nash shift in OT might have murdered my soul.

Me either.

The defensemen as a group were really bad. Decision making, puck possession, positioning, all had their bad moments. Carlo seems to have lost all confidence.

The Nash shift was brilliant. Chased Wings around while they tried to kill the clock, allowing our offensive players to rest.

KMiller is back, immediately we're winning again. How long was he out, 4 games (losing streak)?

First time since Dave Lewis era I have purposely missed 4 games in a row. Glad to read they won, but I still have no interest in watching

If Spooner had buried his chance in ot, Julien would have looked good with his Spooner / Nash gamble.

Getting trapped in their own end after their initial chance was heart stopping action that had you NASHING your teeth.

Let us enjoy the win. Your profile name looks to be for Larry Robinson.

The top 4 topics in the Bruins threads are

1. What trades we should make
2. The countdown to firing clode
3. Why are the bruins good on paper but not in real life
4. How would you fix this team.

Everyone sees this team floundering. Everyone knows this team needs a change somewhere sooner than later. Now, with this win, the threads are blowing up like the B'starter just clinched a playoff birth. Unfortunately, the B's front office is probably thinking the same thing and have decided to table any major decisions until later.

Wins the enemy for this team.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK Bruins nation

YOU DON'T HAVE A PLAYOFF TEAM!!!

Everytime they squeak out an OT win there draft pick drops and there timeline for a rebuild becomes a little longer.

I'm not celebrating that.

Claude really does not have many options for 3 on 3 when you think about it. Marchand Pasta Spooner and top 3 forwards Then your Krecji type be be next and a player like Czarnik maybe or Vatrano .But the Bergerons& Beleskey etc are not the type you want 3 on 3.To slow

Its starting to be clear that if Vatrano isn't scoring goals he's going to be a detriment.

Not sure why people are so upset with having Nash and Spooner out there. It's not like he has a lot of options. His main two lines were worn out and needed a breather so he put out a guy who is defensively pretty good to hold the fort so he that he could roll out his stars once they were rested. Worked out and they won. Of course Claude is still the idiot for making the right move and winning.

The last two seasons they ran out of gas as they played a very condensed schedule down the stretch.

This year is the reverse and with some astute tweaking with the lineup they may be able to pull off a Flyers or Sens sprint to the finish..

KMiller had a very nice game. Played with a lot of grit, heart, and made some good plays.

Yup, Bruins have just about the same chance of making it as any team that is currently out of the playoffs in the East.

I don't think they'll do it but they have a chance.

We are at least somewhat well-positioned for that second WC spot but Jesus Christ, we're battling all 8 non-playoff teams for it!!!

I switched over to the Bruins-penguins game when the Packers packed it in. Today, the highlights were enough. Marchand, Pastrnak and Rask continue to be the Boston Bruins.

Do yourselves a favor and enjoy this win, but do not let yourself be fooled....this is not a playoff team. One win against a pretty bad team and there are those who are talking about going on a run and what not.

Don't let yourself fall for it.

Might be the most underrated player on the roster

Have to agree k miller underrated... but that doesn't mean he's someone we can play in the top 2 pairs. When thrown out on a 3rd pair role for 3rd pair mins, he's better than average.

I fear the same thing can be said of macquaid... and probably c. Miller. I'm not sure liles or morrow are better than average but I know they aren't top 4 dmen

Having 5 bottom pair dmen on the roster at the same time isn't a good thing

Technically Carlo should be used 3rd pair too

K Miller doesn't suck... he just gets asked to play above his ability too often.

That's all I thought. Didn't bother me. Especially if you have Spooner out there you need someone who can win a one-on-one. He stayed out too long though.
You really notice the lack of options on d. Krug and... ?

3 on 3 is exciting but so gimmicky. That some fans would rather have Spooner out there than Bergeron or C. Miller out there instead of Chara - shows that it's just not really Hockey.

I'd say it worked pretty well. Spooner ended up getting 2 great chances to end it. I would have liked Nash's shift to be shorter, but when Spooner went off for a change, Carlo got the puck and must have felt overwhelmed because he threw it away and for the next minute Detroit had control so Nash couldn't change.
