Roster Moves: (Part II) Gostisbehere, 2022 2nd, 2022 7th to AZ, cap relief in return

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Chuck clearly got caught with his pants down and it was a total embarrassment. Ghost should have been moved during the regular season, What the frig is our next move...give Jake and picks for futures! So far the nightmare season continues.
So Fletcher should have traded him during the regular reason....the same regular season where he went on and cleared waivers

It's ''I COULDN'T give a rat's ass.'' Do you also say ''for all INTENSIVE purposes.''
Grammar aside, you probably should care about the fact that you are embarrassing yourself by acting like you know more than all of the GM's in the league.

Actually, it's perfectly fine either way. Google it.

My valuations are based solely on my own two eyes and on what I've gleaned in 35 years of watching the sport. I could(n't) care less what you or 32 GMs or Wayne Gretzky or Jesus Christ think or don't think.

i know it's the same fanbase that thinks that running back this roster will win a cup because of their personal attachment to players.

No, people just say it wrong all of the time because they don't use any common sense. If you are making a statement that you don't care about something at all, saying you could care less or could give a rat's ass means you care on some level. Saying you couldn't care less/couldn't give a rat's ass means you don't give a single shit.

It's simple grammar and one of the common mistakes that a lot of people make right up there with ''for all INTENSIVE purposes'' and ''Anti-CLIMATIC.''

I was perfectly fine changing up the roster, including moving Jake, Patrick, Ghost or anyone else. G would hurt, but otherwise as long as it improves the team, I'm good.

The real problem is that it's the same fanbase who can't see the forest for the trees and fails to realize that the ship is being steered directly into the iceberg. Instead, they lazily trot out antediluvian hockey cliches about players not wanting it enough and that's why we suck, not realizing that the fish rots from the head, and so they lustily root to jettison actual talent off of the team in the foolish belief that doing so will somehow make the team better.

Genuine question, do you get off to responding to pretty much every person and arguing with them over stupid shit?

Take a breath. Go outside.

Since we have established (wisely, imo) that “I could care less” is a perfectly cool thing to say, can we move on to something that is NOT cool to say, although it appears all over the place?

You do not say, “I could of had a V8”. Or, “I should of known better.”

You say, “I could have had a V8.” Or, “I should have known better.”

I mean, hell- the Beatles even wrote a song titled “I should have known better.”

Remember- “have”, not “of”.

I’ll show myself out.

Since another thread has gone to sh*t, I’ll join in.
I don’t think people are saying “could of” but rather “could’ve”. This is probably also poor grammar but an excepted form of slang at the very least.

now back to what a horrible franchise the Flyers are…

Reality is teams have the most cap space of the year at their disposal right now
Almost half the league just lost a Dman in the ED
And none felt Ghost at 4.5 million was worth his contract for free and felt they could get better bang for their buck elsewhere.

I thought he had trade value. I was wrong. Things are only worth what someone is willing to pay. It sucks...but I wish Ghost well and hope he gets 4 minutes a game on the PP and AZ gets a steal. They could use something positive.
