 that's amazing

Henrik stole the show in the 1st period. Towards the end of the period we pretty much started getting chances. Very lucky to get out of that period ahead. Montreal was the better team in the first. Rangers need to play better.

Good on Nash though.

I don't think that Montreal will be able to sustain that energy through 3 periods... they were already slowing a bit by the last 5 minutes of the first.

very good point

Biggest dagger is the Rangers with standing the surge and ending the period leading.

Now that the Rangers started getting their game together, they should come out with a better start to the 2nd.

Nash nets another in the 2nd.

Hank was stuffing these clowns like Thanksgiving turkeys now it's time to reward him with more goals!

Next goal is HUGE. We need to get it. Quieting that place does wonders to the players confidence/ability to bounce back. The adrenaline can only last for so long.

Rangers need to adjust on their clears along the boards. It wouldn't hurt to elevate their energy level. But the forced plays along the wall are potentially disastrous if the Rangers don't adjust.

watching a highlight reel of Nash for fun, he seems to do his best when he has 1/2 a step on the D and also coming off the boards, skating in through the face off dots. Both situations he is able to make a relatively straight line towards the goal and out muscle the D. I think he can also do well as the late man because that can give him more room. We've seen his one-timer tonight and he was the "late" 3rd guy on that 3 on 2.

I know the Rangers are winning, mostly due to Lundqvist. They need to play tighter and better for the poor guy, who was amazing. And is Stephan hurt, this is the second game in a row, where he look's slow with no energy?

They basically gave him an entire period off in game one. He's playing his part now. Montreal was always going to come out strong in this one. We rewarded his stellar play with two goals.

Lol step always looks slow with no energy

Not sure if Step is hurt, but he has never been a fast skater. With the Canadiens playing so hard in the first, he looked even slower than usual.

I love Stepan, but to be honest, if he was any slower he'd start skating backwards.

That's how he looks most of the time. It's just his game. Solid defense and unexpected point production. If you didn't look at his stats you'd never know he contributed much of anything offensively.

It's not a knock he's just not a flashy player.

This ain't over. Expect Montreal to come out hard again. Got to play smart. Not very often that the team scoring first loses lately. Montreal can't afford to go back to NYC 2 games down. If they have to I think the Canadiens throw everything they've got at us tonight.
