For Gods sake man, it’s not called synchronized swimming anymore. Get with it. They changed it to Artistic swimming to enhance its popularity.

Men's volleyball is one to watch if you never have. 6'8 guys touching 12' spiking a ball at upwards of 120-130 km/hour. And Canada is in again this year, qualifying for the 3rd cycle in a row after having not been to the Olympics since 1992. They're in a tough pool but have been in good form coming in to the Olympics, making the semi-finals of VNL (World League). Couple of local lads on the team as well, Golden Bears volleyball alumni.

Beach volleyball might have the coolest venue going, right in front of the Eiffel Tower (cue obligatory women's beach vball comments now haha)

and usually fixed, I like watching the snow boarding or skiing judged events but can't think of any summer events that I like. Gymnastics maybe, but not much.

Volleyball is one of the most entertaining sports out there. The ladies are great but the men just have more power, almost too much as there aren't as many spikes/services received. Wish there were more men playing though.

Paris and LA were the first host cities to dictate their terms for hosting the Olympics to the IOC. I hope it works out for them because anything is an improvement over the IOC's corrupt bidding process used to select decades of previous Olympics host cities.
