The analyst said she was far better at that stroke than the American.
Yes Sir she kept in very close touch on the turn and it was always going to be the breast stroke that could have won it for the American.
100% of people in the know could have called that last length including Kate Douglas.

The American was disqualified anyway. They are protesting it but i don't think it will work.
She was?

That's gotta suck. Practice 4 years, and make a mistake to cost you a medal.
Yeah she needed to take one more stroke or wait out the reach. Either way her turn would have been slower and she probably loses out on time to Douglas anyways but would have kept the bronze.

It's ok. Americans are killing it in medal count as usual anyway... one less, no biggie. Feel bad for the girl though.

I'm going to have to watch the race again. I was so focused on how Summer was doing. That I didn't notice anyone else. Yeah either way, she definitely would have lost time.

I think she could have still get silver with a normal turn? Not sure how far the 3rd girl was. But the 1st position was definitely out of reach with a normal turn.

Walsh actually finished in 3rd position before the DQ, her time was 2:07.06, Douglass finished in 2:06:92.

Think of how much mileage Alex Baumann got out of his 2 gold medal performance.
Summer McIntosh is now a 17 year old legend in Canadian Olympic History...

Damn who here remembers all the way back to 76 with our total of two silver medals on home soil.
Greg Joy was a household name for a while back then.
