ok, well for reference, in the 9-3 loss they had only had 5 more high danger chances against and 8 more scoring chances against.

The site you're looking at also has the Leafs losing at 5v5... their xGF% is 46%...

Just saying, I don't think it was a dominating win, but if you think it was, then that's your opinion.

I didn't overly like the first period. Jones was good, but the team was loose yet again. Gave up way too many good looks.

All that changed in periods two and three. Completely shut things down, and didn't give much space. Still prone to breakaways... even when playing well otherwise.

Jones is a blessing right now. I agreed with Timmins sitting, too many unforced turnovers. With these specific top 4, Lagesson and Benoit are the right 5-6.

I rag on Marner for holding onto the puck for too long, however, on Matthews first goal that was gold Jerry, GOLD! Chefs kiss on the long con. Matthews looks snipey. JT pops out a stellar goal when you least expect it and Willie just finding a way on the scoresheet every night!

Good win after a terrible loss. This team has no defensive conscience by nature... but when they focus and actually strive to play defensive they can do it well.

Fully agree, it doesn’t even look like the same team on the ice when Samsonov is in net. Woll and Jones provide a good vibe. The players feel confident.
