Also I didn’t forget Greer missing the wide open net. I know he’s a 4th liner but he just had to put it on net from like 5 feet away. Garbage

The whole team just look cooked. It’s not that they are not trying, they just have nothing left in the tank. It’s like all the hockey they have played last 2 seasons is now catching them up.

And with half the team going at the 4 nations gimmick thing, I don’t know how they‘ll figure things out.

I’m starting to believe that maybe it’s not worth it to lose assets for rental players at the TDL. Just make the playoffs with this team and lose in R1 or R2 at best and come back stronger next year.

I know I might sound crazy because after all, they’re still second in the Atlantic. But this kind of hockey is not going to be good enough in the playoffs… Right now, I’d be scared to play Montreal in R1…

Honestly I'm not sure it's an issue between them.. Tkachuk has been playing reasonably well, Bennett has just been ass.

Then again, Lundell deserves the promotion to 2nd line at this point. It's not much but he's been one of our better forwards during this uninspired spree of games

That second Barkov penalty was good awful. The refs did everything in their power to help the Flyers win but Florida was just dogshit. They just don’t care. I’m asking for like 70%. They’re giving like 10

Honestly I'm not sure it's an issue between them.. Tkachuk has been playing reasonably well, Bennett has just been ass.

They aren’t clicking at all. Sometimes getting new linemates for a bit will help with kicking some bad habits.

I dont think Tkachuk has played that well personally. He’s been “okay”. Definitely has another gear that hasn’t been seen often this year.

Bennett started out great and has cratered.

He had 2 separate 4 PIM games in '17-18, one in 2019-2020, one in 21-22, one in 22-23 and 2 last year.

It honestly feels like this team is just gonna squeak in with not much room this year. If they’re conserving energy then whatever. We’re probably gonna be playing the Leafs first round.

Surprisingly, team defense this year is statistically not as bad as it was in the 2022-23 season. We are currently 18th in GA and 14th in PK%.

In 2022-23 we ranked 21st in GA and 23rd in PP%..

That makes me feel a bit better with how we'll do in the POs. The big question mark for me is whether Bobrovsky will still be money in the postseason, you never know with these older players when age will catchup.

I kinda agree. This happens to every team that keeps going to the Finals. A quick exit and recharge may actually lead to a heck of a season next year. But I'll continue to root for them until they are done ...

I am sure PoMo just lets them play right now, but will start shortening the leash after the 4 nations crap. It will do good for the guys who are not going to get some rest. We can afford playing bad a few weeks since we started the season pretty decently. So no worries yet.

Never thought I'd say this but I miss Ek. He does eat up a lot of minutes, especially on the PK. You start seeing that both Kuli and Schmidt are playing too many minutes.

the problem is that even fans (at least I) don't have energy to watch the games. Last two years were mentally so hard that I just don't have enough energy to follow then now when they are struggling. I kind of need time to recharge batteries. Hence, I wouldn't be too unhappy if the season ended quickly.

Yes and many goals in the beginning of the season took place after a shot by Ek or Mikkola. When they both were injured, the team had difficulties in scoring.

Imo, the two 3rd period penalties were ass, but the boys seemed to deflate as the game wore on. Not sure if it was fatigue or if they felt like they had it in the bag and didn’t expect the Flyers to actually keep playing.

Tkachuk has shown up here and there, we haven’t seen first year Chucky since Kolesar, but he kept his head on straight in the playoffs and didn’t further damage himself.

Benny might have contract issues on his mind and fatigue, he always turns it on in the playoffs, that’s why he’s around. Not that the regular season isn’t a thing.

This reminds me of the year the Dolts won their second Covid Cup. We beat the shit out of them like 1 or 2 games before the playoffs. Connauton beat the doors off of Walcott, same as we stomped on them. I wandered over to their board to see all those in the doldrums, except one guy. One guy said to hang on cause the playoffs are starting. I mean, they were getting Doucherov back, but sure enough, the playoffs started and they rolled to a Cup. Maybe it was Douche’s return, but the whole team was ready after kinda stumbling into the playoffs. Maybe we need a quick exit and a recharge, I’d get that, but maybe they’ll explode once they start.

I think we all like to make jokes about Ekblad, but at the same time, we all know he's still an important piece of our D core. Especially with the lack of depth we have this year.
