Barkov showing up at his neighbours house at 5am with the SC is my favourite so far

Funny, but also highlights how the most stacked team in recent years is largely built on a foundation of other teams' cast-offs and players other teams were perfectly willing to part with in trades. There's probably a lesson in there somewhere.
Yup.

Every team in pro sports will surely have guys who are much better than the stats they put up and time given.

But pro teams all act similar. Certain players get more show time than others, especially if they are given a big contract. Then the team and coach has to play them because it looks bad if they bench them or cut their minutes (saving face). At some point they'll finally get rid of them, but in the meantime they just ate up lots of minutes doing crap. A the same moment, some good players are getting hardly any play time.

Baseball is a great example not just eating up time, but batting slot. You'll always get some overpaid power hitters stinking up the joint, but still given a 3-4-5 slot killing the team. The hope is they turn it around, but some dont. They should be shuffled to batting 7-8th ahead of the shitty light hitting second baseman. Nope. The guy will always get a good batting slot. Jays coach had garbage Springer batting lead off for half the season last year though he was terrible. Even Jays analysts show hosts Blair and Barker even joked there must be some clause in his contract he has to bat first because why the hell would a guy batting .200 be lead off for like 70 games in a row?

Vegas is phenomenal. Got to be the best expansion team ever in pro sports. Even Seattle had a solid season in their second year.

Jets fans knowing that their cast-offs including the coaching staff and a player they just bought out are now (repeat) champions:

Not remotely funny. That situation happens routinely where a roster has bad mix of forwards and GM makes a mistake. What's worse is several other teams not paying the same cost that Florida did. That's Bettman's artificially low salary cap system to prop up low revenue reams. This must stop.

Since the NHL and the NHLPA are not going to change this in the upcoming CBA other than to generally raise the cap to match the increase in revenues, it seems like teams should help themselves by developing desirable cultures where they are not on everybody's "no way" list or where players are charging a hefty premium for being stuck in an undesirable culture.

Has the 2018 Vegas vibe of us against the world.
Vegas got left overs and were amazing in season one.
Marchand essentially saying something similar

remember this?
If Chevy re-signed Stastny, there’s a good chance the Jets could’ve been a contender for 2-3 years. Heck, if Fleury didn’t play out of his mind in the Vegas/Winnipeg series, I think the Jets would’ve won the cup that year. Ultimately teams knew that Maurice can’t beat a trap system, which really screwed our chances. Also, Trouba is a bum.
