Dear fans in traditional markets. You're not the only ones entitled to hockey.

I'm legit happy for Florida fans.

I wish it was played at Raymond James and it be Tampa/Florida but other than that, I actually do appreciate the NHL branching out it's Outdoor games. Florida's teams deserve one considering both are good playoff caliber teams.

The biggest weather issue would be rain (which, in fairness, is a near daily occurrence for at least a bit in the afternoon in Miami).

Temperature shouldn't really be a problem.
December through February is typically the dry season here. It hasn't rained here for weeks, and nothing significant since Hurricane Milton came through town 2 months ago, thank goodness.

Humidity is still the issue though, even if it's less than usual, it's not as dry as California. And there's always the chance of an abnormally warm day in the upper 60s.

It’s better when it’s not the same 6 teams getting the games
As a Panthers fan, it's better when there's only one or two per year, it's in an actual winter location, and it's good teams (preferably with some degree of rivalry) playing each other.

All 32 teams should be eligible to play in an outdoor game, but there's roughly a dozen teams who have no business as host. If you want to get the Cats involved, send them to Toronto or Boston. Hell even Calgary and Ottawa could make sense as rivalry games.

The entire reason for having an outdoor game is to play out in the cold and (hopefully) snow.
The worst scenario is play a game with the awful stadium sight lines, with sunny weather that causes glare, and temperatures that ruin the ice. Having all that plus being inside is just the dumbest thing imaginable.

This outdoor game specials has already gotten watered down with the amount of games they have. Might as well play half the league outside on a pond at this point.

Don't even know when these outdoor games is anymore.

Unless they are playing the game in July, rain isn’t a daily occurrence. Though there may be a scattering occurrence of a day or two of rain here or there (like anywhere else). December through May is the dry season.

But Marlins Stadium has a roof that mostly stays closed. I’m sure they will open it for the game, but position it where the sun doesn’t shine on the ice for the game. Assuming the game is late February early March after the Olympics you are looking at temperatures in the 70’s and not that humid.

As mentioned before there is a roof on the stadium that opens and closes, so they can build the ice under controlled conditions and just open it for the game. The sun sets behind the main seating for the stadium so sun glare shouldn’t be an issue. They can also partially close the roof to block a sun glare from hitting the ice.

Having went the Devils game at MetLife last year, going to these things are a fun event even if sight lines aren’t great.

Don't say anything at all
It should be at Hard Rock Stadium instead. With LoanDepot Park you run the risk of having to close the roof in case of inclement weather. That's what happened when BC Place hosted the Heritage Classic years ago.

Now we just need Utah to play outdoors too. Give them the Winter Classic against Colorado at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

If it's a Stadium Series game it'll likely be at night anyway I'd guess (think most of those have been) so the sun shouldn't be an issue.
