Anybody familiar with Florida high school education?
I've been thinking about going into teaching for years now, but my parents have always tried to steer me away from it. I see that Florida has pretty lax requirements for getting a temporary certification.
I'm from NY and graduated from Cornell in 2020 with a degree in environmental science. I have the credits to apply for a temporary Biology certification. But other than having an ivy league degree, lab experience, and my name on some published papers, I don't have anything that would make me a compelling candidate for a classroom.
Do you think I'd have a shot at getting a job in a public school this fall? Or I am being stupid.
