He's 19. He's the second youngest player in the NHL. And he's playing with guys who realistically aren't sniffing more than the 4th line on any playoff team in the NHL. What exactly do you expect him to do? Dangle through one of the best lines and best D pairings in the NHL, all on his own, for an entire game?

You can put any top tier player in the NHL on a line with 4th line scrubs, and they will struggle to make things happen by themselves. You can put McDavid with Anderson and Dickinson, and he would struggle. Because hockey isn't a sport where a single player can go up against 5. Especially 5 of the best in the NHL. This isn't the NBA.

But when the f***ing coach purposely lines up his only offensive star against a perennial Selke candidate, one of the best lines in the NHL, and the top pairing D of the defending SC Champs, that decision should be criticized and questioned.
