Was he scouted as a goal scorer or more playmaker?
Can't really remember his draft pedigree as I don't watch a lot of NCAA or follow it as much as CHL.

Goal scorer for sure. I’m loving how his playmaking is coming along though. We know the kid can shoot.

Samoskevich in a weird spot right now where he's doing a lot of things right, looks great, is creating plays and opportunities, responsible defensively... and just not putting the puck in the net (the thing we were hoping to get more than anything from him). Hopefully, he'll score some facking goals.

I was more concerned about him being able to do the things as you describe. Doing all of that will keep getting him more playing time and he’ll start getting some shots to go in. I’ve been impressed with Mackie this season

Mackie doesn’t look out of place which is good enough for his first full season. I wouldn’t be against giving him more time with Barkov
