I did the math and considering cap rising to 92M$ in 25-26 and probably increasing by 4M$ every year, 8M*6y would be the same as 6,55M*6y if using flat 23-24 season cap (83,5M). 8,5M*6y equals to 6,96M*6y in this projection

Even if it's true - what are people expecting an extension to look like for a guy who is 7th in the NHL in ES goals the past two years and 1st in the playoffs in ES goals? He's one of the very best, most clutch, dangerous even-strength stars in the entire league...
After this playoffs, I think you spelled Evan Rodriguez wrong ;)

Panthers could be in serious cap trouble. Rumoured to be re-signing Tarasenko as well or at least intereted in it.

with $19 million in cap space, Montour, OEL, Kulikov as UFAs and 2 other RFAs on the blue line. Bennett needing a new contact as well as Cousins, Okposo, Lundell and Reinhart and questionable depth for chasing the cup and a couple large trades over the past few years.

What happens to their role players? Reinhart?
They are in serious cap trouble. But Reinhart is staying. Montour, Kulikov probably gone. Okposo probably retiring. Lundell, OEL, Tarasenko probably depend on how much they want

WoW definitely an overpay especially for a Florida team, but hey, they just won their first cup. Plus he is super clutch. Doesn’t matter if they regret it 5 years from now… they want to win another now. But that means goodbye to Monty, Forsling, or Reinhardt.

Forsling signed an extension a few months back.
