This is a horrible trade. Brady is overrated and cannot control himself. Putting those brothers together might ruin the team dynamics and make them lose the control when nerves are needed in the playoffs.

In addition to that we don't have a goalie and no draft picks. And it's a deep draft.

I disagree. Brady has had around 60% expected goal share 5v5 but he hadn't had the best linemates for finishing. He will be a PPG player and is also skilled at forecheck.

In our lineup he doesn't have to do hero antics or take random fights. The notion that M and B would suddenly start playing badly because they happen to be on a same team is strange.

I remember the 2010 draft where we had 13 picks (6 in the first 50), all of them turned out to be dogshit except for Zach Hyman, drafted in Round 5.

I’m much more confident in our current GM and scouting staff now compared to back then, but still. We did the whole “stacked with prospects”, “best future in the league” thing and we sucked forever.

Zito is the man and turned us into a powerhouse. If you’re not excited about this lineup on opening night, I don’t know what to tell you.

Yes. If a team has cap space for proven players and is targeting for immediate success, picks don't make much sense.
They take 3-5 years to develop and even a relatively high pick (the 9th) is more likely than not to be a non-factor.

Yeah Bennett is a hothead who always takes stupid penalties and can’t get it together, Mathew Tkachuck is a loser in the playoffs who will ruin team chemistry, Jones just blindly shoots pucks from the point and doesn’t care about winning, hands of stone ERod is an anchor in the playoffs, and lets not forget Sam Reinhart.
