Rumor: Pagnotta: "Rasmus Andersson is open to a trade, he would welcome it" It would cost 3 assets...1st rnd pick, prospect, +

These threads are all kinds of crazy and lead nowhere with fans that act as if they're negotiating on behalf of a team. The whole concept sounds insane to me.
You've been a poster since 2018, shouldn't be surprising. It feels like some of the guys here list their NHL 2008 Be a GM mode achievements on their real-life CVs. Take a step back, boys.

Besides, you're all wrong. It's going to be Andersson + Cooley for Draisaitl (50% retained) + Edmonton's 2026 draft pick (should be late) to anchor that defence corps and goaltending.

Ok, what team is trading a potential #1 C for a 28 year old top 4 RHD?

I love Andersson, I just don't see any team that has that prospect like that valuing a player like Andersson over their own.

They're probably looking for something similar to the Savoie trade. And yes players like that do get traded, hence the Savoie trade.

Potential 1C is for sure the wrong term to use. You’re not getting a prospect who is looking like a 1C for very many players

An interesting C prospect should be what the flames target if they move Andersson though, that or LD is the biggest need in the prospect pool

Still think it’s more likely they just keep him though

There's a difference between a potential #1 centre and a projected #1 centre. No one in their right mind thinks that Andersson is going to bring back prospect who everyone thinks will become a #1 centre. The Flames are looking for a guy with a #1 centre as a ceiling and a mid-range centre as a floor.

Ohhhh ok, so more of a top 6 potential C then, that makes more sense.

The Flames scouts are likely looking for someone they identify with a floor as a 2nd liner and the upside being a #1 centre. There's lots of those guys out there. Former higher picks who aren't progressing. Maybe guys who are logjammed in deep prospect pools.

The Flames prospect pool is becoming very deep and they have a bunch of picks in the next two drafts already. What they need is more quality. Trading Andersson for 3 more depth prospects makes little sense.

Newhook and dach are nothing players, theres no reason for either to be targeted as a key piece of andersson trade (throw ins sure). Habs/flames 1st is a good start, the rest falls apart because whatever else habs wants to give Calgary dont need. We dont need offensive RD, we dont need 3rd line players.

This. A guy like Hage, Yager, Beaudoin... etc. This is more important than a 1st IMO

A guy with a "floor of a 2C" is worth significantly more than Andersson

It's just highlighting the Flames' most pressing organizational need... since the mid 1990s.

There could be a + to Andersson to make that happen, depending on the player coming to Calgary.

Ultimately though, there's no point trading him for spare parts or redundant players now, can get the same return next year's trade deadline.

Except he's not a rental...
That makes me skeptical that he's for sale. Calgary probably sees the best option as just re-signing him so they can maximize their team while they have Huberdeau and Kadri and Coleman who aren't tradeable. It's not like this trade deadline is the deadline on what they decide with Andersson. I'd say trading him at the draft has some appeal.

He's not for sale. Flames will offer him a massive contract July 1st.

If he doesn't sign then he's for sale

He isn’t.

This thread has been wild with 3 separate sources now going against Pagnotta since he’s made that claim.

Said this at the start more likely he signs an extension this summer than gets traded this season.

Per TSN…

PIERRE LEBRUN: Yeah, the Flames have no interest in trading him, point blank, and they’re a little confused as to why they’re getting calls from other teams checking in on his availability.

What GM Craig Conroy has told other teams is “We’re not interested in trading Rasmus Andersson.”

He’s not a player on an expiring deal, the Flames are in a playoff race, and in fact, the Flames hope to extend Rasmus Andersson potentially this summer when he’s allowed to extend one year out.

That may or may not happen, but for now he is a Calgary Flame, and the Flames, they don’t want to tear it down. They want to keep some key veterans around as they continue to transition their roster, and Andersson is one of those players that the Flames want to be part of that.

You are correct.

Frank is like a flaming bag of dog shit on your porch
Pagnotta is the shit in the bag
I dunno that last time Frank was sure of something and first one it, the Jiricek trade, he took alot of heat, but ultimately the trade happened really soon after he had predicted.

Sort of similar to how Frank said the Flames would trade Lindholm in the summer of 2023, and then reversed course and said the Flames were signing him to an extension?

As has been said from the beginning, the Flames will try their luck re-signing Andersson first, and If and only if that fails, will they look to move him.

The Flames are a very reactive franchise. This isn't a surprise whatsoever.

I only notice him when t comes to the Flames and he's almost as bad as Pagnotta.

I didn't follow enough of that Lindholm chatter to form an opinion, so I'll take your word for it. He does seem to have rubbed Flames fans the wrong way though.
