Yes.Would Calgary be interested in Power for Andersson?
He said in two separate interviews in the last couple of days that he wants to stay in Calgary. Pagnotta is, as usual, out to lunch.So if I'm getting this straight, he wants out of Calgary because he doesn't want to be in a rebuild and MTL fans think he's going to want to go to....a rebuilding team. Got it.
Could be doing the team a solid to keep his value up. HopefullyHe said in two separate interviews in the last couple of days that he wants to stay in Calgary. Pagnotta is, as usual, out to lunch.
The Flames need to try keeping him, but here we are in January again, and UFA to be Dman isn’t signed. Can they get more than they got for Hanifin? If he’s ready to sign a contract, sure. Still think we’re looking at a 1st, similar type of 24-25 year old who needs opportunities, and a prospect. A good but not Grade A prospect.
Every year fans think they’re getting top prospects in these UFA deals and it rarely happen.
Andersson isn't a UFA this summer, he's not until 2026. hey aren't even allowed to extend him until July 1stThe Flames need to try keeping him, but here we are in January again, and UFA to be Dman isn’t signed. Yes.
Byram Krebs and a 1st gets it done for me easily. I just think Buffalo wouldn't do that. Their 1st could be too high. I think a Krebs and Byram being part of it makes sense. Both are from the area and fit Flames needs. I think the 3rd piece would be smaller than the 1st. Either a 2nd or one of the surplus one dimensional 2nd line prospects.I imagine Sabres wouldn’t have Power on the block regardless of what fans think.
I’d assume Calgary would be all over Byram + Krebs + pick however.
Knowing the tie to Krebs, the will to get younger.
It’s all moot anyway. Francis (love him or hate him is probably the most in-know reporter outside of Leslie) just threw cold water on it. That all said, not sure what Razzy is supposed to say ‘yeah I want out in the middle a playoff race’.
Said it before, first, c-prospect just doesn’t get it done. We’d rather hold him until next February/march and get the same return.

Way too much from the Sabres. Byram + Krebs would be fair imo. I don’t think Andersson would waive for Buffalo though.Byram Krebs and a 1st gets it done for me easily. It's not the commitment you are suggesting it is.He said in two separate interviews in the last couple of days that he wants to stay in Calgary. Pagnotta is, as usual, out to lunch.
Nope, we tank again. Our owner and GM are happy.Are the Sabres going to back up the Brinks truck for this guy? Because it seems like he wants to go to a winner, and Buffalo would end up sending out a bunch of futures and cost controlled pieces for a guy who'll walk after next season.
Too bad Edmonton and Vancouver are on his NTC.I’m pretty sure the Canucks can match.
We got a 1st & Hoglander.
Byram + Krebs works for me. We'll have one season to convince Andersson to re-sign or trade him in a year at TDL.Way too much from the Sabres. Byram + Krebs would be fair imo. I don’t think Andersson would waive for Buffalo though.
Why would the Habs who candidly won’t make post season make a trade at a time where prices are inflated for an asset that could very likely not be retained?Hello Flames fans. I understand the Flames are in a playoff chase so probably won't trade Andersson until you know if you are out or in. If you find out you are likely on the outside looking in come TDL, are you open to trading Andersson?
What's the price and type of return? Futures based? My offer would be around something like this below but we have to be able to get assurances from Andersson he is very much interested in extending.
Habs 1st
* lottery protected
* Probably falls 10-16 range
Newhook
* Young NHL proven piece you can use now
* Still RFA after his current bridge deal
* More like a middle 6F who is a winger that can play center (if required)
* Habs have a winger like Roy and probably will need to create room for him at some point. Don't hate Newhook but not sure he fits our cap structure after his bridge deal.
Mailloux
* RD prospect with top 4D upside
* Big body that skates well and has a great shot
* Needs to mature on the D side
Possible other adds
* 2nd round pick maybe
I think they have no choice TBH.Are the Sabres going to back up the Brinks truck for this guy? Because it seems like he wants to go to a winner, and Buffalo would end up sending out a bunch of futures and cost controlled pieces for a guy who'll walk after next season.
Are we talking about the same Krebs that hasn’t scored more than 10 goal/year six years after the draft?Byram and a little "+" would be enough I think for Andersson as a neutral fan in this affair.
I also think the first-round pick on top of Byram and Krebs would be a definite overpayment, not a major one but still not good value for Buffalo.
He's not a shooter, he's a playmaker, he looks decent as a 3C right now.Are we talking about the same Krebs that hasn’t scored more than 10 goal/year six years after the draft?
Dude is a dime a dozen now
Prove my point, a mediocre bottom 6He's not a shooter, he's a playmaker, he looks decent as a 3C right now.
Well, Byram is the main asset to return, not Krebs. Or maybe I misunderstood something.Prove my point, a mediocre bottom 6
Is that too hard to throw in for a top pairing dman?
