Gaudreau is rumored to want to be closer to home.
Better deal than Hall for Gaudreau, but still no.
You think Pacioretty's better than Hall?
Better contract and equally good of a player. Pacio gets underrated incredibly on HF.
Pacioretty does get underrated, but I've always thought Hall was even more underrated. He gets the blame on Edmonton despite being an incredibly productive 5v5 player. I mean he's 8th in 5v5 pts and 8th in 5v5 pts/60 over the last 3 years (Just ahead of guys like Tavares, Kessel, Pavelski).
His most productive years were just coming IMO, with McDavid allowing Hall to get easier minutes behind him but still having 1st PP time.
Just to get off topic for a moment, to respond to this.
I was looking forward to see what kind of chemistry McDavid and Hall were going to create. Another season or 2 and that pairing could have been huge in the NHL. Then, add a young stud RW and that top line explodes.
Was sorry to see Hall traded for that reason. I think he got shafted being the one traded.
As for the thread topic.
Pacioretty is a damn good LW on an amazing contract, but IMO he has been getting comfortable. His game has slowed and he isn't as physical. I think a change of scenery would wake him up and get him going again.
If the rumor of Gaudreau wanting to be closer to home are true, then this could be a possibility.
Not saying a must or a should, just a possibility.
It's off season and we need to post about something.
If you all want me to, I can start posting JVR to Montreal threads again....
I might do something like Gaudreau and Brouwer for Pacioretty and Galchenyuk in the hypothetical event that Gaudreau refused to sign with Calgary.
I'm sure you would.
That's pretty horrible for Montreal.
