I've seen Wray play. He's not going to put up big numbers but he is a crasher banger.

Maybe a match for Mbuyi.
I felt he was getting wasted with his 2 current linemates

It blows my mind when I see teams allow coaches to bring in their own kids. No matter what kind of player/kid the player is it is going to create issues. Especially on a young team that is on a rebuild. Parents cannot help themselves at some point someone will be questioning the ice the kid is getting. Any team that does it is making a big mistake in my opinion.

Bringing in a coach or owners kids works out more than you are giving credit....think London, Windsor, and yes the Attack with all 3 MacDermid boys. As long as the kid can play and is a good team mate who cares

I don't disagree on that point. Wray is a former 2nd round pick and there may be upside there yet. For 6'4", he's still a little slight of frame physically so room for growth certainly.

Total agreement though that it's a highly questionable move if it bumps a young player out of the lineup. If it is a precursor move to a veteran departing then it makes more sense.

It does add a wrinkle for Coach Wray in a rookie debut as Head Coach to add that father son dynamic to the mix.

Wray was the #49 pick, 5th in round 3. A bit of a project, but he works hard and attempts to use his size. He could be a really effective OA centre I think.
If it doesn’t work out, send him home to NB. The battalion would make good use of him, I’m sure.

He'll have to produce to be an OA on this team but the competition isn't particularly steep. At forward he'll be up against Cormier and Tersigni amongst the 06 group and nobody has really locked it down though Tersigni has scored some goals this year. His playstyle certainly fits with what the Attack are trying to do. Betting on upside at the cost of a 7th round pick seems a solid gamble.

Look I often joke that DeGray loves his annual 'trade for an 18 year old with 2.5 seasons of service time' deals, but the optics of this one is not good.

For a team and a coaching staff that's been all about getting the guys to 'buy in' and have some level of meritocracy, adding the coach's son the mix sends up all kinds of red flags.

Hope I'm wrong and Masen becomes a solid player here.
I really do not understand the backlash on a move like this- Wray is an 06 6'4 Centreman - That has tremendous upside. He has and is currently a full time OHL player- This is not a bubble guy that is coming in and taking a spot simply because his last name. This move makes Owen Sound better than they were yesterday and it cost them a 7th Round Pick.. If it was Sean Doherty coming back to Owen Sound from Niagara as opposed to Wray everyone is ecstatic about this. Let the kid play a game before talking about optics and it being the coaches son. Scott is in this position for a reason - He has earned the opportunity to become a head coach - I would be shocked to see Scott treat Masen any differently, in fact i would suspect he is even tougher on him.

You nailed it perfectly. I've watched Masen play and like his game. I think he adds value to this team for sure and the pick isn't until 26. IMHO a very good add.

Sadly, one of the Attack ownership group has passed on Sunday.

Fay Harshman was the first woman to own a Tim Horton's franchise, and the first woman to be part of an OHL ownership .

Fay viewed herself as a Tim's employee, wearing the standard Tim's uniform and working the counter with her staff, for decades. It was not unusual to see her passing your order out the drive thru window.

She owned every Tim's in Owen Sound and her and her family had locations in Hanover, Southampton, Port Elgin and Hepworth.

She loved her community and her hockey team.

She donated to so many worthwhile causes, mostly staying out of the spotlight.

One of her proudest moments was seeing her 'boys' bring the Robertson Cup home to Owen Sound against all odds.

Today is sad day in Attackland, for those of us who were touched by her in some way .

Might be the best line combos we've seen this year. All four lines seemed to have their moments. I thought it was a bit odd to start Wray on line two for his first game but it worked. The fourth line was particularly effective I thought generating scoring chances and drawing penalties. That's something to build on.

Koprowski had a bit of a tough night I thought. Didn't get a lot of rubber early and seemed to have a tough time settling into the game. He was overly scrambly at times and out of position a bit too often as result. No issue with the pucks that beat him but would like to see him get back to that calmness he had on Saturday.

Carter George gives way to Ivankovic in Game 2. Finishes up his camp with 1 goal on 20 shots in 2 games. Good enough for a .950 Save %. About all he can do for his push to sport the Maple Leaf on Boxing day. Should hear later today on cuts.

I think Carter is a shoe in as the backup personally. He’s obviously capable, has team Canada pedigree, and they’ll want him as understudy for next year’s starters role.

Probably one of the most positive, good-natured and down to earth kids at the camp as well

I feel like George is in a similar role to a Western Canadian team Canada goalie from a few years back. (Not mentioning names). Split the tournament with the 19 year old. Whoever is playing better gets the Medal rounds. George comes in year 2 and its his tournament. Time will tell.

I tend to agree with you. I would feel comfortable with him playing games in the knock out round if need be, but will be perfectly content (and probably feel preferable) if he were the get a few games in during the preliminaries and play backup to one of the W goalies for the remainder of the tournament.

I might eat my words here, but I really would be incredibly surprised if he doesn’t make the final roster.
