Going off the top of my head, so may be wrong, but i think this is the first draft where we’ve had so many players playing for the team this soon. Hasn’t even been 3 full years since the 2022 draft and now we have 3 players in the line up (Slaf, Hutson and Beck).
I think Engstrom is next. He has impressed me a lot in Laval.
Jared Davidson is also another good candidate.
A very good draft even though they dropped the ball at 26th.

I'm not seeing who else drafted immediately after him who is having some amazing NHL debut that would prove that assertion at all. In fact, Mesar had more points in the same amount of games in the AHL as Kulich, despite it being his first season in the AHL to Kulich's 3rd, prior to the injury.

His non descript games show how intelligent he is and that he understands the assignment.

He is on the 4th line. His job is to not screw up. That's what he did, chipped pucks up, stayed in position, safe plays. That's the job and it's also how he earns trust and TOI. No kamikaze pinches or hits, or attempt at a 1 on 3.

This was Heinemans MO by the way. I remember early posts about how people thought he would do more at the NHL level but he isn't, he's just a filler that's easily replaceable. And so on. But then he got games in and became more confident and showing what he can do.

Beck will play in the NHL but give him 60 - 100 games to start showing what he is capable of doing.

Beck is a center. Play him as a center.

Or call someone who can play as a winger from Laval.
Not necessarily Dach played a wing with Suzuki. Suzuki played a wing on the 4th line. Playing Beck with Evans is probably one of the best possible spots he could land on to start his career in the NHL. Marty said it himself last evening. "You can never have too many centers in your line up"

Yup they also know Owen Beck "Gets it" If he plays tonight I just hope the kid isn't too burnt out after B2B.
Did he already do his honorary lap 2 seasons ago? Whatever make him do it again.
Good catch….he played 3 consecutive nights….glad he is young.

He would be perfect for 4th line LW
I was thinking the same thing, but I’m learning to trust our smart people more than my judgment.

More importantly: two of them were noticeable.

Mesar will be an NHL’er.

The question is whether he’s running out of runway with the Habs and their deep prospect pool.

If Laine signs, bottom 6 could include:
Heineman - Beck - Hage
Newhook - Kapanen - Roy

That’s without returning UFA bottom 6 (Evans), UFA signings, trades or other prospects challenging.

I have no doubt Beck will be in the lineup.

That's right Marty. Just ask MB who went from 3 centres to one in a month.

If he's on the wing he can take draws if Evans gets kicked out and he can learn to adapt to the NHL game without the pressure of playing center, it is much easier to play wing.
To replace Heineman at Montreal. I prefer to play Tuch as a winger for Montreal. Or I prefer to play Davidson as a winger for Montreal. They play like Heineman's style of play.
