Shanahan doesn’t visit the Blue Goise anymore because he knows he wouldn’t make it out alive, Mimico deserves better……Don't even joke about that.

Too bad he didn’t take his own advice and not acquire Laughton, what a waste……Tre has been of record several times saying he's not a fan of trying to build a team at the trade deadline.
Think of which member of 'management' was most likely to get the boot if we didn't have better results this year, and I think you'll figure out who was the impetus for the deadline activity.
Treliving gave upIt's not a very logical case, but there's absolutely a business case for bringing Shanahan back - he's guaranteed them playoff home dates every year, and they are coming off a season where they just had SEVEN playoff home games.
The sheer amount of money they've made the past month with those home playoff games is absurd.
That's the one and only angle where Shanahan has a case to continue running as president

Berube would not answer when asked about Tkachuk saying the Leafs would be a better team elsewhere./HAyes makes a good point
what would have taken for Matthews to come out and address all those bogus / trolling comments by FLA saying theres too muych pressure, go easy on them
hayes said all he had to do was put a hammer on that and say its nonsense. theres no pressure, its just hockey. yes we have failed here and we all need to be better including myself
Good we don't want weak willed players here too.Kypreos issued a warning that players may not want to play here anymore.
That's fine. I think the fans may not want to fan here anymore.
It wasn't just that though, the Lightning leaders met that summer and decided that everyone had to change their approach. Just being the more skilled team wasn't enough, they decided they had to play tougher from top to bottom.
The Leafs on the other hand must have recognized the change the first time they met the Bolts the next season, saw that new attitude carry them to a Cup and our boys decided "Meh, not for me."
Every year the Leafs brass find a different setup to surround the stars with in hopes that the depth/blueline will basically be the Goodrow and Coleman. But it's not enough.
So, for the hundredth time over the past few years I'll repeat it: As long as this core is the core, they'll never winning anything. They know exactly what they need to do to win and they simply refuse to do it.
Therefore, if the Leafs got themselves 3 Sam Bennetts it wouldn't be enough if Auston, Mitch & Willie are the other 3 in the top 6.
Good we don't want weak willed players here too.
The ones that wanna come here when no one else does is a good thing for us.
SkyNet has become self-awareIf their goal is guaranteed playoff dates then every single one of us is wasting our time.
Chalk it up to trolling and or rage bait. Tkachuk winning in Toronto would make him immortal. Winning in Florida makes him a champion.Yet weirdly, Stanley Cup Champions balk at playing in Toronto. See: Tkachuk.
Interesting, isn't it?
He knows how to trim eyebrowsNick Algebra doesn't know anything.
Exactly we need a few Dawgs!I think Leafs changed their approach under Berube this year to play that type of game. It looks like we are missing a couple dawgs.

Thanks for slamming down my lay-up.Then can it please nuke us into oblivion and get it over with because I'm frigging tired
He might just enjoy playing in his home country more though. Kind of interesting that all three Tkachuks started out with Canadian teams.Yet weirdly, Stanley Cup Champions balk at playing in Toronto. See: Tkachuk.

I'm holding out a bit of hope for some good to come with a full season and a free agent contract in the offing (even if Toronto isn't going to be the team which offers it).Too bad he didn’t take his own advice and not acquire Laughton, what a waste……
The guy who ran away from Calgary to a market that had 10 fans, because he couldn't stand the pressure of playing McDavid his entire career, is the last guy I'd be listening to for advice on pressure, tbh.Yet weirdly, Stanley Cup Champions balk at playing in Toronto. See: Tkachuk.

I do think the Leafs need to be careful though - hockey is a fraternity. One big extended group chat. If it starts getting around that Toronto is no longer a desirable place to play, it's no longer lip service. The optics of all these comments coming just a short time before Marner walks for nothing after facing years of abuse and criticism here, is going to continue sending ripples across the league with players and their agents.
Remember - Ryan O'Rielly wanted no part of the circus here. David Perron reportedly felt Ottawa had "less noise" than Toronto and opted to be a Senator. The Leafs are really on the precipous where they need to get ahead of this before it starts really effecting their ability to build a team.
Yeah I mean if anything, Tkachuk is exactly the guy to talk to about this. Because he did exactly what he's suggesting and found a lot of success.
Hard to argue with the results.
We often associate fortitude to put up with pressure with Champions. But assuming Maurice, Marchand and Tkachuk aren't simply trolling, that might not be how the players and coaches see it. It's an interesting thought experiment.
But there's nothing really you can do about it if you're the Leafs, except try and get lucky I guess. Get players who want to be here and thrive under pressure, then hope they are blessed by the hockey gods.
Maurice finally said it. What we've all known and feared. We are little more than the NHL's cash cows. And comic relief.
A dark day in Leafland for sure.
But the team didn’t have playoff success when there was relatively no pressure in 2017, 2018, and 2019. I don’t know if pressure is all that. All fans want to see is a good effort, not whatever game 5 and 7 were. Maybe make the occasional deep run? There is no real pressure here to do anything. So it's better to be in a place where you have a SC parade in a parking lot?
Their Mom is from WinnipegHe might just enjoy playing in his home country more though. Kind of interesting that all three Tkachuks started out with Canadian teams.
Many felt that was true when he was here.Kyper's number 1 reason why Leafs are where they are today? Replacing Lou with Dubas instead of Hunter. The damage Dubas caused is next level my friends.
