I have a hard time believing there is “a lot of interest for him” how many teams would realistically be in on him 2-3 if that

In this market, that would constitute a lot of interest.

A decent sized centre that can play in the #2 slot and #3 slot depending on what the coach wants. If there is a contending team out there looking for a centre (Oshawa/Kingston), they could benefit from making an internal shuffle to bring in a kid like Melee.

I would suggest the same with Bujold too.

After being under 50% on draws last year, he has 22 face-offs taken this year for a team with no forward depth. He's not a centre

I'm guessing Kingston will want to focus on upgrading Heyes with another RW. Before the year I said they'd need a D but they've been much better defensively than I thought they would be.

They could go for an OA C and push McNamara to the wing but I think they're deeper at C than RW.

Kingston could be better off adding an OA LW/C and a RW before another D imo.

I've been thinking about removing Roobroeck. If he plays both games with Hartford in the AHL this weekend and reaches the nine-game mark, I'll take him off the list. The only reason he's still been on here is that he's listed on Oshawa's roster on the OHL website

Don’t do that.

As I’ve explained numerous times, Roobroeck’s game isn’t ready for the AHL at this point. He’s not going to “learn on the job” in Hartford when he’s constantly sitting in the press box.

I’m still expecting to see Roobroeck back with Oshawa this year.

Jonathan Melee is not a centre. He plays left winger who can sometimes play right wing.

Ah yes the famous Hartford press box where Roobroeck has spent exactly zero (0) games.

Dude admit when you're wrong (ELC ELC ELC) and stop acting like you're smarter than everyone. The people that need/try to show off their intelligence are consistently the dumbest.

Canada's best hockey minds consider Allard the better player, but I can see your side if a team is more focused on our offense than a 2-way guy. Allard is more like an Owen Beck that didn't get the proper recognition as a late bloomer.
Probably better for the role they envisioned Allard playing last year. But they outsmarted themselves with that selection imo

No, but I’m sympathetic to their plight.

Belleville was a good junior hockey town - - light years better than Hamilton, Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, Burlington or Markham could ever dream of being. They got a really bad deal.

If I were to buy an OHL team, of course my first choice would be Oshawa - - especially if the current kook ends up following through on his laughable threat to relocate to Pickering.

Failing that, I’d definitely consider buying a floundering franchise like Brampton or Flint and moving it to Belleville.
You’re entitled to your opinion, but that “current kook” is a tremendous owner who’s done many great things for the Generals in oshawa. The teams dressing room and lounge alone is something that has set the standard for the rest of the CHL. The new jumbotron in oshawa when they got it, plus a memorial cup within the past decade. What is the argument against him? He’s not going to bring the team to Pickering, plus that was only proposed as a possibility for 2031 if I remember correctly. Pickering lacks the demographics anyways, it’s too much like Mississauga and Brampton.

I’m the first to acknowledge that Oshawa has a very soft team devoid of any physical presence. In addition to that, their depth is also very thin - - particularly on defense after the misguided fleecing by Owen Sound.

A one-for-one swap of D’Amato for a Connor Punnett type defenceman would help to address the lack of toughness, but it still leaves them with only 4.5 capable defencemen.

Svozil the Euro is still trying to prove that he can be trusted but Rodriguez is unreliable during the regular season and unplayable during the postseason.

As we saw last year, you CANNOT survive in the playoffs with only 2.5 reliable defensive pairings. If there’s an injury, it leaves only four defencemen and they just get worn down logging 25+ mins every game.

Luke Torrance has been a serviceable player for Oshawa and it’s a cute story that he’s a local player, but you cannot keep an injury prone 3rd line plug ahead of a top four defenseman. Having an “A” on his jersey is completely irrelevant - - just as it was last year when long tenured assistant captain Tommy Stewart was traded away for a better OA player.

This should be obvious to anyone assessing the team objectively, but unfortunately pom poms can obscure logical thought.
This is laughable Donnie, gens are as deep on the back end as any team in the league, as Svozil has settled in pretty nicely and has been a net positive for the team. Rodriguez is even a fairly solid #6 D.

calling Torrance a 3rd line plug and is just flat out disrespectful, not to mention wildly incorrect. Are we watching the same Generals team, as well as the OHL? Because I don’t think you could find more than 2-3 teams where Luke Torrance isn’t at least on their 2nd line. Elite PK’er as well. If he had slightly better foot speed, I’d be looking at him signing an NHL contract, he’s that well regarded. from where I sit, Svozil has settled in pretty nicely here and is playing good hockey, relatively smart and smooth plays under pressure and a good stick, although he can still be prone to getting walked or lost in coverage down low. But he’s going to be good, a lot of raw elements to his game imo. You don’t think the team has q a physical element to it? Sinivuori, Sennecke, Rogowski, Franssen, Sandhu, Danford, Torrance all play physical games. This isn’t the 90’s anymore lol

When an absentee owner is constantly making absurd demands and laughable threats, at some point you have to call the kook’s bluff.

The dressing room upgrades, players lounge and new jumbotron were all paid for by taxpayers NOT Rocky Tullio.

Rocky has been making ridiculous demands for nearly a decade - - insisting the Oshawa Hall of Fame needs to be removed from the building so he can have more office space, among dozens of other demands.

You must be confusing Rodriguez with someone else because his play has ranged between mediocre and God-awful this year.

Did you watch the game tonight? Surely you must have seen Rodriguez’ brutal defensive mistake at the end of the 1st period.

Oshawa in total control and up 3-0 with less than a minute to play when Rodriguez inexplicably decides to pinch resulting in an odd man rush and a backbreaking goal to make it 3-1 with only seconds remaining in the period.

So many times throughout the game Rodriguez gets caught badly out of position. Don’t just take my word for it - - watch a replay and see for yourself.

Surely you can’t be serious with your insistence that Oshawa has a tough physical team.

Do you honestly believe that any of Sinivuori, Sennecke, Rogowski, Franssen, Sandhu, Danford, Torrance come remotely close to matching the physical presence and intimidation factor of Connor Punnett or even Roobroeck?

Oshawa desperately needs a rugged physical player like Punnett - - especially for the post season.

Or do you suppose it’s just a coincidence that without Punnett they lost SIX (6) out of their final SEVEN (7) playoff games last year?

As for Luke Torrance, any team depending on him to be a 2nd line forward has no hope of being a championship contender.

Ask yourself who Torrance would have replaced on the 2nd line for London or Saginaw last year. Answer? Nobody. Because it would have been a massive downgrade. That’s the calibre of talent that’s required on the top two lines of a championship team.

Well Donnie must have me blocked since he's answered other replies in the thread. I really hoped we'd be able to have a convo but apparently someone doesn't like being called out on BS.

It's probably in your best interest honestly. I blocked that fool along time ago when I realized he just likes to troll and argue you everything.

Save yourself the headache.
