Ovechkin Milestone Thread - Countdown to 894 (Continued)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Can't argue with that, but his game overall was poop. They did give him the 3rd star, though. 😁

He's 39 years old and he suffered a serious leg injury during the season. Do you seriously expect him to play like McDavid or prime Lindros or something?

He uses his offensive IQ and shooting skills to score goals and still comes up clutch. Most 39 year olds can't even play in the NHL.

6 goals with 11 games left.

Some soft teams in there including Sabres, Bruins, Hawks and Pens.

I'm convinced he's going to pull it off this season now. The Jets are hard to score against and that was an important game (two best teams in the League going at it) and he potted a big goal. There's no reason to think he can't score six in 11 when he faces those teams in that stretch. He may score four or five in those games alone.

no poop.

He is currently #2 in NHL history for points per game as a 39yr old. A hair behind some guy named Gordie Howe...

There are three other 39 year old skaters this year - Burns, Perry and Suter. None of them will come close to 40pts this year.

Also, none of those guys broke their legs this year.

Almost 40 coming off a leg fracture and people judge him like he's 26 and should be driving possession for three periods.
Sweet Jesus, you guys are touchy. Is this the reply every time someone doesn't fellate the guy in here? 😆

I never mentioned McDavid or Lindros or any expectations.

He's the greatest goal scorer in the history of the game. He scored tonight despite playing like poop. Both things can be true. Chill. 😉

Not elaborating but I’m curious what the reaction to Wayne will be in the Canadian cities.
You won’t get to find out until next season, if he doesn’t break it this year. The Caps’ last game vs a Canadian team was tonight vs the Jets.

Looks like they’ll probably face Montreal rd 1 but 99 won’t be traveling for the playoffs

Wayne hasn't been Canadian since he's been traded to LA. These days he has more in common with Hegseth than he does with Canadians. I mean he's a full Trump supporter... Doesn't get anymore anti Canadian than that.

There's a kind of irony in all of this.

I still remember the first goal Ovy scored. I will always remember his last one, when it happens.

Dude could have accomplished even more had Washington had better coaching early in his career, covid didn't happen and he didn't break his leg. And yet, he will be the most prolific goal scorer of all time.

His rant at the Salt Lake Olympics proves “patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel”.
