My feeling is that they really do not know more than "week to week".
It is not season-ending, meaning it likely does not require surgery. Then, it becomes of matter of how quick he can rehab/how quick it heals.
So, they really do not know more than what they are saying.
Definitely some copium being inhaled by some. I think he will probably be out a month-ish.

Dreger is saying that the Ovie injury is not knee related.

If true, makes some sense....looked line shin to side of shin type contact....didn't seem to be much pressure on ankle where you'd expect HAS or something and that probably explains why he was at least able to put weight on the leg and lift himself up.

4-6 weeks means probably a hairline or stress fracture. No way you're coming back that soon from a serious fracture.

That sounds like an injury you for sure recover from 100%. Glad it wasn’t knee ligaments

Lets say he comes back in early January, if he stays healthy and plays ~40ish games he'd need 27 goals to still break it this season. It's still possible, but he'd have to pick up where he left off in terms of pace.

Depends on if he comes back with the same scoring veracity. The Capitals also don't play that many games coming up. While it definitely makes it less likely, it depends on whether or not it's 4 weeks or 6 and how he comes back.
Knowing Ovie's luck, we might be in the midst of a nuclear war when he's ready to return

Strongly disagree! Last season he had like 8 goals in the first 43 games and then 23 in the 2nd half of the season. He was scoring .83 goals per game(15 in 18). If OV misses 6 weeks, he will miss 18 games. That puts the Caps at 36 games, with another 46 to play. If OV gets 27 in 46, that is only .58 goals per game.
