Another cool fact is that he has a great chance to break the record for most goals by a 39 year old at 39 goals by Gordie Howe, he was 6 goals off the record for 38 year olds held by Brett Hull

At this rate, could it be out of question for him to set a new record for oldest player to hit 50?

He already owns the record from when he did in 2022 at 36.

Strome is a stud…sometimes patience pays off. The Caps are good this year. I think this is legit. The combination of Strome going supernova, Ovie and Wilson and Carlson turning back the clock, payoffs from their big buy-low summer moves and great development from their young guns…I think they executed the very hard to perform “retool around your aging stars” maneuver this summer to a level people weren’t ready for.

I still find it amazing the amount of free ice he gets out there and the disrespect from having someone NOT shadowing him. Mind you it's been happening for nearly 20 years, but still. A nice bounce back year so far for him and the team is doing well. I don't think anyone had them doing this well.

You’d think all those kids who grew up watching him on TV would have a solution, but he still fools the opposition at 39.

He, wetcoast and Slava Malamud have all been put in straightjackets for their own protection.
I will actually say a word in defense of Wetcoast. I do disagree with some of his opinions, but I think that it's unfair to include him in the same sentence with the other two. I believe that Wetcoast does sincerely love hockey, and he doesn't hate Ovi, in contrast to the other two, in any shape. He just has a different view. There is nothing wrong to go against the grain sometimes.
