What sucks about not having Buff beyond his contribution on the ice is that atleast in games like these he would throw some big hits, even if it ended up with him in the PB. No one other than Lowry and the 4th line showed much physicality after the game was out of hand. Niku tried when he stepped up at the blue line but missed his man.

I was absolutely shocked at the lack of outrage... action... by any Jet calling anyone out...

Speaks volumes...

Buff is probably sitting in an ice shack with Sip'....

Laughing their frickin' heads off...

Scheifele fully deserving of his -4 on the night. The guy is just too f***ing lazy to be bothered back checking. You want to unload a core piece to shake up the team, this is the guy you send packing, not Ehlers.

Now, I won't step on @Derfel toes by posting SV%, but 5 goals on 12 shots isn't even Comrie level goaltending. In comparison, BroSwat shone in relief with a sparkling 12/14 shots not entering the net. Yay.

Chipman, just f***ing get rid of Chevy and Maurice, and let us start the slow climb back to respectability under a new regime. To paraphrase my former employer's slogan, what you're doing isn't working.

I would suggest he is like many people I know everyday...

They vote with their feet on difficult things... they disappear and you say they were great people... where did they go...?

He's a young man... he's talented... he's driven... he's gone through a lot of personal shit in the last 2 years... and he's a millionaire (that's a curse)…

I can't imagine the pressure he's under... the frustration he feels...

When I was his age I was high functioning but still privately struggling with things outside myself and hid it... I was no millionaire... I doubt it would have mattered...

Something is very wrong when a guy like this checks out...

I watched Kelly McCrimmon parse his words mid-week when asked why the firing of Gallant...

I know the man and lets just say... he's a shrewd man and having to parse his words hurt him to the core...

Gallant was sacrificed because he was good at his job... Fleury and Subban have sucked this year... the metrics, numbers his players were top 5 in the NHL in just about everything...

Gallant was loved by the Vegas players from what I have heard and that was why he was fired...

To send a message to the players... because they play the game... take them out of their comfort zone...

It's a brutal world, but it didn't shock the hell out of me... it was all very Corporate...

When you can't send players down to the minors... you take the things away they love...

This is the NHL now... St. Louis last year turned the NHL in to a Wall Street Meme...

Tampa winning the races to every puck after playing last night while the Jets had time off to prepare is just inexcusable.

The lack of emotion and heart on this team is deeply concerning.

Coaching and the leadership of this team, or lack thereof, should be under the microscope undeniably.

Well that had to have been probably the worst game I have attended live. Just flat out awful performance by the team tonight. Really only JoMo and fourth line bothered to show up.

The third pair was laughably bad, not NHL quality in the least.

None of our top 9 was able to get much of anything going offensively and it was flat out disrespectful how certain vets on this team treated their defensive assignments:

• Scheifele what the hell happened to you? You used to be a player that worked as hard in the defensive zone as the offensive zone. His defensive zone play was absolutely insulting today and if I were the coach he would have not seen another shift in the game.
• Copp trys his hardest but is out of his element in the top 6. He has no hands and stops making safe plays and trying to force things which lead to brutal turnovers like the second goal.
• Wheeler and Ehlers- Stop gaining the zone and pulling up each time, take it hard to scoring areas.
• Laine at least was busting his ass on the back check all night.

Something needs to happen with this team, the performance for the last year and a half has been below par. Its clear certain players don't respect the coach enough to actually give a damn about their defensive responsibilities. Our coach is also far too scared to actually hold those players accountable.

The allstar break is coming up in a week and Chevy needs to decide what direction he needs to take. Are we going for it or are we deciding to retool for next year. Either way getting a fresh voice in may give this team a lift. While I am no Maurice fan, the players also need to wake up.

Yes...

Having talent, gifts does not make you immune to reality... tough times...

I don't put these guys on pedestals...

In fact when they succeed I rejoice because they are no better than you and me... they just play the sport I love the most...

I have no illusions... I have worked with professionals as a consultant and if you were naïve you would expect them to hold form in tough times...

People "like myself" would challenge them to change their ways... what I got back at times was no better than everyday people on the street... trust me we are all just human... weakness is always a possibility in difficult times...
