Out of Town Thread - New Year’s 2025 Edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

So true.

He won one Stanley Cup behind one of the best cap era teams ever assembled.. and then had to be replaced by Matt Murray in two other cup runs that he 'won'.

One of the most overrated, stat accumulators in NHL history.
To be fair I think the human/personality is probably the bigger factor of how much people are making a big deal out of this

The top 5 goalies that Alex Ovechkin has scored the most goals against are:

1. **Henrik Lundqvist** (44 goals)
2. **Marc-Andre Fleury** (28 goals)
3. **Martin Brodeur** (27 goals)
4. **Cory Schneider** (25 goals)
5. **Jimmy Howard** (24 goals)

Goals coming so fast, NHL.com can't tell which one's which.

Hockey is so over for that guy

Giving up playing with McKenna for a full ride at msu.

Pretty good decision actually. He missed this entire year & would only have one more year of junior hockey left. He's not ready to turn pro in another year with his lost season.

This gives him an opportunity to continue to play high level hockey, grow his game & gain some strength while also getting a chance to experience college life. Way better than the long bus rides in WHL.

Agreed. I don’t see any argument in his case where this is a bad thing.

Michkov is such an odd guy.

He's got 2 goals today. He's coughed the puck up for 1 shorthanded goal and at least 1 other shorthanded chance.

I think once Philly gets better he will look better overall as his mistakes will likely result in less goals/chances against.
