Out of Town Thread - New Year’s 2025 Edition

I can't believe it. I've been told that it would play on the team's morale.

No. You are comparing apples to oranges.

This trade does not pull the rug from under the team. It is designed to enhance the team's quest for the playoffs, and not to get in the way of it.

The Leafs trading a first for Laughton to be a worse-than-replacement-level bottom 6 guy who can't really handle playing center, the position he was acquired to play, is hilarious.
The Leafs will forever remain the team that 9/10 times they trade or acquire someone you think 'wow that would've been a good pick up 3+ years ago when the player was good.'

My comment was directed to people who were saying that it was a problem to deal best friends on teams....People should just realize that pros are just that pros...and it's not the first time that they lose friends. It's part of the job. And if the team gets the better player, they will succeed.

It’s not black and white like you state it, they’re pros, not robots. If you trade players but break chemistry you won’t get the desired effect.

That said HuGo never said “won’t trade friends” that’s how some posters summarized it here.
