Hes been the mvp of that franchise. The problem with goalies league wide is that there doesn't seem to be the consistency that we were used to seeing especially at the top end, or goalies are breaking down quicker than before.

People talk about pettersson in Vancouver, but demko just got hurt again, and never seems to be healthy anymore. This guy is as good as anyone in the league when healthy.

Goalies are probably the players that make me most nervous in a cap world when it comes time to make a large commitment.

Yes, this consistency was my point earlier in the season.

You look at the top skaters, they happen to be mostly the top money earners.

You look at the top goalies, and it’s more of a mixed bag. It’s risky signing then to long term contracts. Same with drafting them. … or even picking for team Canada - folks were doubting just months later.

Apparently, the target date for him to break the record is April 4th. A Caps home game against Chicago. That's based on his current g/pg rate.

Even if he doesn't do it on that exact date, there's still 6 games left after that for him to do it.

He’s got 25 games to score 13 goals.

He is scoring at a .71 goals per game pace and only needs a .52 goals per game pace to break the record in the next 25 games.

I think and hope it happens this year. I also hope the Caps plays the Jets in the Stanley cup finals.

Yeah I don't know, I don't like to blame the goalies, those were all pretty much perfect shots from not far out and you need a bit of luck as a goalie to anticipate that, guess somedays it works and some not. Igor had and easy job, pens lack that killer instinct they had when they were good, tried to carry the puck into the goal.
